To fund her family's significant legal fees, she sold self-published copies of Mamacita, and the cookbook became both a symbol of their journey and a rallying cry.
 
This new edition of Mamacita offers 30 more photos and 11 additional recipes, allowing you to taste even more of the love in Pons's dishes.

To me, this is the perfect cookbook - engaging personal stories that give background on each recipe and the creation of the book itself, nice photography, and easy to understand recipes and instructions. I immediately sat and read through the whole thing. There are many meatless dishes which I was pleasantly surprised by, and there are suggested variations on the proteins you can use in some recipes. I’ll be leaving this one out on the coffee table (the cover art is cute!) to keep within arms reach.
