This book was the January '23 selection for Jamie Oliver's cookbook club. It was a huge favorite with the group. In one month I made at least 15 recipes from this book. You will very likely be able to choose a recipe on the day you receive it without having to make a trip to the grocery store. There are no hard-to-source ingredients or complicated techniques yet you will end up with unique and delicious dishes you will want to cook again. The meatballs in tomato sauce with burrata alone is worth the price. We may have ordered takeout once the whole month I was cooking from this book. That is not usually the case. My photos aren't great but they illustrate how often I cooked from the book including two cakes. I didn't show the polent, pistachio, and honey cake because the pictures just were really not great. But it was delicous.

Beautiful book, creative dishes and well organized. However, the recipes aren’t properly tested. The Chicken Thighs with Porcini and Marsala is a creative take on the classic Chicken Marsala. The image of the dish on page 75 is stunning. However, it is missing the chicken stock (or not enough mascarpone) added in the classic so comes out dry.

I bought this book yesterday and we already had tomato and basil sauce with tagliarini and burrata for lunch and it was soooo gooood. Simple, easy and fast, but so delicious, like most of the recipes in the book. You know you are in for a treat by just looking at the table of contents. Tomatoes, pine nuts, ricotta, lemons, parmesan, porcini mushrooms... who doesn't love those?
I can already feel this will become one of my favorite cookbooks. Thank you Mr. Randall!
