The old school way of making crushed ice!
I bought this to make crushed ice for tiki drinks. This is a dead solid reliable way of making crushed ice, without using anything electric or hand crank. There are no blades or parts to rust! Quite a few reviews say that it’s not durable. You don’t need very much forced to crush ice, it’s mostly in the wrist and let the weight of the mallet do the work for you. Also don’t overfill the bag. If you hit it just hard enough just to crack the ice there should be no stress on the seams of the bag. It’s cool to make a bag of ice for a drink or two. But in anticipation for many guests, I can crank out a batch of ice to fill up a 1 gallon freezer bag in about 10 minutes.Another essential item for tiki drinks!
