When first unboxing this tiny espresso maker I did not expect much from it. It has a plastic feel to it that does not exude quality - although it is sturdy. I had just packed my Breville Barista Express and needed a small maker urgently to use while I move to another country. Enough with the background, following is the review (be aware I've only had this for a couple days so will update if something changes).

Portability: this thing is super small and super light. The hardened plastic exterior is justifiable when you take into consideration the weight. This is meant to travel. Other reviews that mention bad quality plastic are taking this machine out of context - while it can definitely shine in your house, it is meant to be taken out into the wild. Everything you need (except for the coffee) can be packed within the body of the machine. While I don't have the NS capsule adapter, I gather you'd even be able to take one capsule inside the water tank. All you'd need then is hot water.

Ease of use and clean: while I might be biased coming from a vastly more complex machine, this thing is incredibly easy to use. A few main steps and you got yourself nice coffee. I'd say the hardest part of the entire process is cleaning the portafilter once you're done. Because of pressure requirements, that thing has to be packed tight. While I have not yet completed a deep clean of the machine, from looking at the steps it seems straightforward. Again, this is my opinion coming from a more complex machine. Ultimately, this is an espresso machine, not a long coffee machine. The love and patient you put into the process will return you better results. It's not a one button operation, but the few steps required make it a incredibly pleasant experience.

Coffee, the crux: Given all that has been said about this machine, it makes incredible coffee. No, it will not give you the complexity and layers of a machine that costs multiple times its price, but wow, was I taken back when I first tasted the coffee coming from it. The coffee forms an incredible crema, although not as tall as a machine with more constant pressure, but it is there and it is noticeable. The coffee extruded is creamy and packed with flavor. My only complaint, not really but more negative observation, has been that unlike other machines the crema and general texture of the coffee decays rather quickly with this machine. But...again, it's an espresso so you should be done within a couple sips anyways.

Overall, if you're looking for a solid cup of espresso at low prices and are especially concerned with portability, I don't think you have to do more research. Go with this machine.

UPDATE-
Now that I've used it on a daily basis for a couple months, I did run into a few times when it would not pump any water/coffee for no apparent reason (same exact coffee and grind, same pumping technique, etc). I contacted support- they emailed me several videos to test out various parts of the machine, which all checked out but I still had occasional troubles. However, in my experimentation with the machine I've been able to achieve a 100% success rate by using this simple trick-
1. "Prime" the pump part of the machine by pumping it a few times -to get rid of all water remaining inside.
Do this everytime BEFORE you assemble all the parts and add water and coffee to make a fresh espresso shot.
2. If it still fails to pump, clean the filter parts as per the instructions supplied. You might have to unscrew the metal plate for "deep" cleaning, should the "regular" cleaning not be sufficient.
Unfortunately, unscrewing the metal plate requires an Allen wrench which isn't supplied, so do this BEFORE you leave on a (camping) trip or make sure to bring a wrench with you, so you can clean it in the field.

BONUS TIP - to make a long shot, just add more water into the reservoir after pumping the first shot and pump a second shot.

ORIGINAL REVIEW-
I was at first a little skeptical of a small handheld espresso maker, but after using it for over a week I'm very happy (and I rarely rate any products 5-stars). Love the fact that I can use ground coffee- unlike Minipresso that only uses pods.
Despite some reviews that state it's difficult to use and/or clean, I've had no problems whatsoever using this contraption. It's really well-designed and thought through, down to the scoop/spoon and how it nicely fits into the filter for precise and mess-free measurement/pouring of ground coffee. Tamping is just as easy using the back side of the same said spoon. All the parts fit nicely together and feel very sturdy and solid when assembling and disassembling the machine.
Clean up is basically a quick rinse of all the parts. The instructions do recommend a more thorough cleaning at intervals, but I don't see those being much more involved.

Of course, if you have no access to running water, say when camping, things would get a little more complicated, but so does everything else while camping. A separately sold Nespresso pod adapter could probably take out some of the added inconvenience at a camp site, but personally I find one-time pods extremely wasteful and Earth-unfriendly (throughout the whole life-cycle- from production all the way to disposal).
Needless to say, you must use properly (i.e. finely) ground Espresso-style coffee beans you like. Using coffee meant for regular (e.g. drip) coffee makers will leave you disappointed and may not work well in this machine.

Very happy so far.

I heard about these awhile back, and with vacation coming up decided to grab one. Package showed up the next day, and I proceeded to make two "worst case" shots (pre-ground La Llave espresso + hottest tap water the heater would allow). Both shots turned out perfectly fine - at least within realistic expectations. Crema was thin, and overall flavor was relatively mild (for espresso) but pleasant. Sure could do a lot worse for coffee on the go. Overall I really like the design, it is very simple, compact, and seems robust enough for the trips I plan on taking it on. I think for others with a legit addiction to espresso, this and a brick of decent cuban espresso could work really well when other options are sparse or non-existant.

Just took this on a 10 day sail. It was fine for being a portable maker. Espresso was only as hot as you can get the water but it was effective for what we needed. Easy to clean and an acceptable espresso compared to not having any. I did see some negative reviews by folks who were using this daily. Product is not meant for that. If this is how you would choose to save money on espresso you probably should redirect your money towards more important bills. Especially since you can buy something for $125. But we will use this again for sure for camping, hiking and boating. That is exactly what it is meant for. If I were using this at home on a regular basis it would be because of catastrophic earthquake or zombie apocalypse.
