got this to replace my qvc cooks essenstials pressure cooker my grandmother got me years ago , the thing was a hassle to figure out with its pressure valve and just recently after finally using it a few times made the counters all wet like it might've been leaking ? .....fast forward to me looking into insatnt pots and i settled on this duo , i like it cause you don't have to mess with a valve , instead it have a nice locking lid mechanism and a release button on the face.the first thing i made in it was some chicken wings for my fiancee's dinner , i put them in for 5 mins on pressure cook as per the recipie i had and did a natrual release for 10mins followed by a quick release after followed by quickly broiling it in the oven ( i was going to use this but he didn't want to wait for a few batches) he was really happy with how they turned out , after those were done i made my regular batch of seitan i had been doing in the other cooker. this batch definately came out a bit more spongey vs dryer than my previous batches leading me to believe that my other cooker was indeed not sealing properly. after that was done i decided to do a quick test of the air fryer setting after removing the pressure cook lid and wiping out the pot, i 'fried' a batch of nasoya tofu vegetable dumplings that i had in the fridge and they were perfectly browned and it was alot less work than browning them on the stove.all and all i'm happy with my purchase , its relatively easy to clean and does what i wanted it for . i just wish it came with more accessories for coooking different things cause a fryer rack doesn't make sense for certain things.

Ok, let me just say this thing is great. It air fries, it pressure cooks, it sautees. I wish I'd gotten a bigger one, but that's all on me. At least it fits in the kitchen. Seriously, it's super versatile and the 5-5-5 technique makes better hard boiled eggs than anything else I've tried (I've done experiments and comparisons aplenty. 20+ methods tested and this is the best). You can put eggs in at the start for firmer egg whites, for deviled eggs. Or put them in just as the water is starting to boil for a softer egg white. Place them upside for ease of peeling (this will require an egg tray). It also makes brownies and will air fry a 4 pound bird with a bit of tin foil on top. I haven't found anything I can't do with it, but do note the pressure cooking only has one pressure setting (high) and it doesn't want to cook with the top open which is kind of annoying if you're using it as a stove top. But overall? I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I'd just look to see if I could make the 8qt one work.

To start..this kitchen gadget is way to heavy at nearly 25lbs I myself cannot lift it due to medical reasons. It is also very tall in height, having it on my counter i have to lean up and over it to see inside. My slow cooker of 24yrs became a creacked-pot so I thought I would invest in something with multiple gadgets in one. This InstaPot was the wrong choice. This takes about an hour to preheat on slow cooker, Yes an hour even after sautéing items before hand, so cold food in spots after "4hrs" of cooking on high. Cannot pause on this setting either it continues to beep at you even while on warm for serving. The air fryer is more like a broiler being only cooking the browning/cooking on just one side. The pot discolored after the first use. When cooking with lid closed the condensation pools around the rim and causes drips onto counter Be Careful. The inner portion of lid removes for some settings (air fryer for one) this is held in by a small PLASTIC tab seems flimsy at best. The locking mechanism is great for safety hence the 1 star but needs force to shut and causes me to strain when closing. This item is over priced, over weighted and over hyped. The app for recipes isn't anything you couldn't simply find online. Not pleased with instapot by any means but now stuck with it due to time frame for returns. Took time to unbox it and get it to the kitchen due to size and weight, then trying different functions.

This is my upgrade from the original instant pot. I love this. Makes my cooking days so much easier. The air fryer feature is really good. The size is ok, easy to clean but my stainless steep pot inside got some stains after i cooked a soup and it does not go away. But that doesnt bother me much.
Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2023
Like many we purchased an Instant Pot, but for many years ours sat unused until a friend suggested how great it does hard boiled eggs (It really does - they peel so easily after pressure cooking!) and once we started keeping it handy to use for that once a week “discovered” all the other great things it could do with it like soups and stews and more.
Our only frustration with it was the manual valve for the pressure cooker - It was difficult to read if it was set to open or release and took so long to seal even when it was on the right setting. Additionally we started bringing it in the RV but also brought an air fryer, two additional devices and their weight. This unit solves both problems: The pressure cooker release value setting is now controlled from the front panel, and it includes an air fryer (built in to the new permanently mounted lid, with an easily removed cover in place when pressure cooking).
Everything we loved about our original 8 qt Instant Pot is in this one as good or better, and although we moved to a slightly smaller capacity it’s still plenty large for everything that we do with it.

I love this pot for so many reasons, and dislike it for one. The lid on this version tends to get stuck in the sealed position. This has happened to me twice, both times while clean and dry in storage mode. I go to use it and the lid won’t open. The unit seems to think it’s under pressure when it’s not. The first time I was ready to toss it, then the lid opened about a week later, and I continued using it for several months. The second time it never opened again. Reading forums, I see many people have the same problem and it can happen while being used, or like me, when not being used. Some have gotten it open by pounding on the lid or dropping it upside down, which pops the sealing mechanism open. This model does not have a manual pressure release button, so if it gets stuck shut, you’re out of luck. I don’t like the idea of banging on it until it opens because I need to trust that everything is working as it’s supposed to the next time I have it under pressure, so I had to get rid of it. For reference, I’m meticulous about keeping the unit clean and as dry as possible. Unfortunately, the rubber seal that goes around the lid does not come off as it does on other models, so it’s hard to get completely dry. With all that said, I do love this pot’s dual function lid. Other models have two separate lids for pressure cooking and air frying, but I didn’t want to store or deal with two lids. I hope this information helps someone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective - no heat and pressure leaks
Reviewed in Canada on June 5, 2024
Many problems with this Instant pot and I miss the original one so will purchase another version and separate air fryer. Lid leaks and many errors so pressure cooking was not an option and instant pot support was lengthy and inefficient with tutorials and tests which never resolved the issue. Was using as just an air fryer and now even that doesn’t work. No heat, just the fan sound so does not work at all. Bought 4 months and I am not eligible for a refund or a replacement. Very disappointing

This item is huge, but has lot of features that is very useful. We bought this just for the air fryer, and it works perfectly. We'll most likely use it as pressure cooker also in the future. Only thing I noticed is the weird smell that it gives out when we use it, maybe due to its still new, we'll see in a few more uses. But the best part is my wife loves it!
