I was really hesitant to spend this much for a suitcase. I've carried Travelpro for the last 15 years but when two of the wheels exploded on my Travelpro Maxlite 2 bag in the middle of a three week European work trip I decided to try something else.

After a lot of research I landed on B&R Simpatico as I wanted a good quality hardside. This is loaded with features and is really well built. And more than that, those wheels. I've NEVER had a suitcase before that rolled so effortlessly on hotel carpet. It is worlds beyond my Travelpro luggage.

I liked this one so much I'm going to replace my carryon with a matching B&R carryon for shorter trips. I'm a believer.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gold Standard in Luggage!

I have owned Briggs and Riley luggage for close to 20 years and it is the best. My wife, a seasoned traveler, and I travel A LOT and before me she always bought $100 cheapies at Walmart and they'd last a year or so and she'd have to transfer all those destination stickers to a new bag, rinse, repeat. So for Christmas I got her this one. It's perfect and she's starting to get it. Pay a little more once and you don't have to buy it again a year from now... I love and use their Lifetime Guarantee and they honor it.

Highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it

I purchased this and 3 other different cheaper brands, all hard side luggage, before a family trip overseas. I wanted to love this. It’s heavy. The clip things that allow you to push down after packing are cool, but not better than the outer zipper on other bags. It ended up showing more external damage than the cheaper bags. Maybe it rolled a little easier than the cheaper ones, but definitely not $500 better.
I do have a soft-side Briggs and Riley bag and it is much nicer and also cost less. If I ever buy this brand again I will stick to the soft sided.

For years I invested in Samsonite and I did not buy the cheapest model and that turned out to be a waste of money. I love Briggs and Riley. It really is a great bargain and a great piece of travel equipment. Sturdy, easy to push or pull around no mater how heavy I packed it!
