I have worn many shoes in my 56 years. And, unfortunately the word "leather" doesn't mean that anymore.
This problem went so far as that I high branded shoe name ... lied to my face when I asked if "genuine".
So sad.

BUT this item ... WOW true genuine leather - from a "cow" - go figure. Sorry had to toss that in.

And, by the way ... if you ever get a review "they are too hard" -- remind them that cows are not born
to grow patent leather & foam soles.

Great product, thick high quality leather, a little to stiff as received, I think will be ok long term. Fit well on foot, leather inside as well. It doesn’t have to much padding on the foot bottom, but are fine for short walks. I love the look and feel.
