Goes on evenly and doesn't feel heavy. Feels cool on contact which let's you know where it has already been applied. I work outside, in the sun most of the day for 12 hour shifts. While more applications is likely recommended, while only applying twice per 6 hour period I didn't get any sunburn related discomfort. Great product.
