Nice hotel, but overpriced.
1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is a nice hotel in a great neighborhood. The staff were generally very kind and polite. This was my second time staying at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. It may be my last.
You can get a lot more for less money elsewhere in Brooklyn & Manhattan. The rooms at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge are small. At my latest stay, I accidentally hit “do not disturb “ because it is right next to the light switch, so the staff did not clean my room. Instead they sent a message to me asking if I would like my room clean. Nice touch, right? Well, I responded yes to the text and I called the hotel front desk to request my room be cleaned because I wanted to make sure my room was cleaned. Both staff members I connected with said, absolutely they would clean my room. This was 2 pm in the afternoon and I was told the housecleaning staff go home at 6 pm, so it would not be a problem. When I returned to my room that evening, it had not been cleaned. Also, the hair dryer in my room was broken. You had to move the cord into a special position or it would shut off.
These are minor issues, but when I am paying $800 a night, the hotel is overpriced. I will try the Marriott or the Hampton Inn down the street next time. ( :
