I would say these sheets are a bit thicker and firm than the regular bed sheets, which gives it a bit of the hotel feel. it is comfortable and if you're looking bring the hotel back home. this would be it!

When I saw the blurb about a "premium hotel collection" I was skeptical about that claim; well these sheets do remind me very much of hotel sheets - they have a crispness about them although when I run my hand over them, they are soft to the touch.

The fitted sheet flawlessly fits deep mattresses. These well-crafted sheets do need a light iron once they have been washed as pure cotton tends to crease a bit. I particularly like to avoid the top section folding over in the haphazard way that it tends to do when items are tumble-dried, so I do run my cordless iron over the top section.

And yes, these are not cheap sheets. Decades ago I purchased really expensive sheets (because I liked the color). I was astounded not only how long they lasted, but how good the sheets and color looked after 10 years. So I am hoping these sheets will be in that category and will last for a long, long time. They are really very plain sheets (not even the top edge has been prettified in any way), so the only things they have going for them are the OEKO-TEX cert and longevity.

This item is OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, so there are no harmful chemicals (like formaldehyde). And what does the chemical used for embalming have to do with cotton sheets? Well, recently I read that all those no-iron cotton items that are now available have been heavily treated (so that they remain crease-free for many washes) with a resin that contains formaldehyde as a key ingredient, which also improves color-fastness and stain-resistance. I am happy to settle for a few wrinkles and skip the no-iron resin. It is entirely possible that sourcing truly chemically-free cotton is not a simple task and that this has added significantly to the bottom line.

I was a little nervous getting these and opening them. It's such a high price point with some big promises. I almost felt let down taking it out of the package. They seemed a little too 'crunchy' and not as soft as I was imagining they would be for that price. Even after washing them, they still seemed that way but they managed to surprise me. Once you actually get them on the bed and are laying in them, they even out and become super comfortable. Yes, just like the nice hotels like it claims. They're smooth but not slippery. Soft on my skin, the top sheet has that perfect crunch we dream of when pulling it over us. I've had issues with so many different kind of sheets (microfiber I'm looking at you) where they just always feel sweaty in a way, even if I'm not necessarily hot it just generates that icky feel, but these are perfect. They keep that clean cooling feeling that I've been looking for. They also are such good quality to withstand my cat, he's prone to getting his claws stuck in things which has led to plenty a loose fiber sticking out of most of my fabrics but these sheets don't stick to his claws. There are no holes or loose fibers from him walking around which I cannot tell you how refreshing that is. No pilling or anything. The sheet fits my standard sized mattress pretty well, if you have a deep pocket bed, you might be running a little tight. The top sheet is pretty large though. So you have plenty of wiggle room there. Hopefully useful if you're sharing a bed. While I do notice wrinkles up on taking them out of the dryer, they all seem to smooth out when you get them on the bed so you probably don't have to worry about ironing. Overall I really really enjoy these and I'm glad I took the leap to get them.

I know these Fluffco 100% Cotton Flat & Fitted Bed Sheets are described as sateen finished, but they feel crisp to me like percale usually does. The fabric is heavier than many of the sets I've gotten recently which is nice. They definitely feel like quality sheets. I don't understand why they didn't come with pillowcases, but luckily we have many extras already. It just seems lake an expensive set of sheets like this should come with pillowcases.
