Conservation work

Make a difference with your diving

Here at Oceans Unlimited we understand how important it is to be ambassadors for the underwater world. With all of our programs and trips and well as our day to day shop activities, we try to be as ECO aware as possible.

One of our main priorities is working alongside a local non-profit here in Quepos called Marine Conservation Costa Rica Through them we assist with their coral restoration program ,  as well as education and outreach programs throughout the area.

In 2023 we became one of the first PADI ECO diver centers. In order to qualify for this we had to fulfil certain criteria which included;

Participation in the PADI AWARE Adopt the Blue program

Be an active Green Fins Member

Demonstrate an exemplary level of environmental performance, through the above programs

We take our marine conservation work very seriously and are striving to make a difference here in Costa Rica.  Achieving this goal was a wonderful recognition for us.

Soft corals in Manuel Antonio

As part of this initiative and through our partnership with Marine Conservation Costa Rica, we run a number of different programs and workshops throughout the dive center.

With our professional-level dive training, we offer a ECO Divemaster course where budding dive professionals learn how to participate in dive surveys and assist on the restoration project.

For recreational level divers we offer a number of different courses and workshops including coral restoration, marine research, nudibranch awareness and octopus ecology. If your are interested in joining us on one of the programs, check out the options here.
