How do I clean my electric can opener?

Clean it with a damp towel. Do NOT submerge it, rinse under running water, or load in the dishwasher.

Does it really leave a safe and smooth edge?

Yes, it really does.

Will this work with any can?

It works with almost any can size/shape, but not soda cans with sloped edges.

Are batteries included in the package?

No, they are not included. It requires 4 x AA batteries.

Why doesn't the magnet on the can opener lift the can lid when it's done opening?

The magnet only works on iron metal lids. Some can lids are made of aluminum or other metals with less iron, so the magnet may not lift them. In these cases, you can easily lift the lid by hand.

How did you come up with the idea for this product?

It began as a family effort to help make life easier for Mama Ola, because she was having a hard time in the kitchen with her arthritic hands. After brainstorming through many ideas such as ergonomic cutting boards and star-trek style utensils, we settled on a cordless electric can opener because that was the most difficult task for her.

I wish I had bought one of these a long time ago. My 89 year old Mom lives with us and needs assistance opening cans. I have been using a manual can opener but I didn’t like that if someone wasn’t home she had to wait, or eat something different if she couldn’t open a can.This is super easy, she can set it in place and push the button on, then once it’s gone round the top, push the button to turn it off. And what is the best part is that it cuts it at the outside edge of the can. You don’t have to fish out the sharp inner lid, simply lift at the top and it comes right off. (It does have a magnet so if it’s a smaller soup can the magnet will lift the lid off for you, on the larger tuna cans the magnet isn’t quite strong enough, but simple to lift it up yourself) you can see in the photo how it cuts the top off, it isn’t as sharp but I’d still be cautious with it.We all use it now, it is SO MUCH easier!

I bought this opener in Sept, 2023 and it stopped working 6/2024. kind of difficult to get it on the can correctly, does not stop when done cutting so need to hit the button, does not release easily all the time. But, once you get used to it, I would not use anything else. However, it broke and there was a contact email on Amazon. I sent an email. The company responded almost immediately, asked for additional in and photos and video, and sent me a replacement immediately upon viewing the problem and verifying my purchase. I am very impressed. I bought this for my 90 year old mom who was having a hard time opening cans. This is a miracle! Super easy. Just set it on top of the can and it does all the work. Honestly, amazing. The only trouble we had is that the magnet didn't pick up the can lid when we lifted the opener....but that's not a big deal. I will say, we didn't realize it was going to cut the lid from the side, so the first time around, we thought it didn't work because we didn't see any cut marks where a normal can opener would cut. But, after the second time around, I lifted it up, grabbing the top of the can by the edges, and it all came open. That's when we realized it cuts from the side. It was just a little to get used to. I do wish the magnet actually picked the can lid up with the opener, but we can live with that.

I wish I had bought one of these a long time ago. My 89 year old Mom lives with us and needs assistance opening cans. I have been using a manual can opener but I didn’t like that if someone wasn’t home she had to wait, or eat something different if she couldn’t open a can.
This is super easy, she can set it in place and push the button on, then once it’s gone round the top, push the button to turn it off. And what is the best part is that it cuts it at the outside edge of the can. You don’t have to fish out the sharp inner lid, simply lift at the top and it comes right off. (It does have a magnet so if it’s a smaller soup can the magnet will lift the lid off for you, on the larger tuna cans the magnet isn’t quite strong enough, but simple to lift it up yourself) you can see in the photo how it cuts the top off, it isn’t as sharp but I’d still be cautious with it.
We all use it now, it is SO MUCH easier!

This Can Opener was advertised to be awesome. And I totally agree. I love how it opens the can on the side and there are no sharp edges. I had a manual one like this and it started to act up and I can’t seem to find this kind anymore so I was very happy to see this one. I bought 2 one for home and one for the cabin. It works so well even on the cans that have the tabs to pull of the lid. If you have only one can opener this is the one to have. You just put it on the can and push the button. Sooooo easy to use. This is a must have.

Ordered this product as I have arthritis in my hands. The can opener is easy to operate and works well on various sized cans. It’s a little slow moving and doesn’t stop automatically but these don’t take away from its functionality. The battery compartment door is flimsy and difficult to close once opened.
