Well, it is made of plastic. Clearly called out in the ad, so if that's a concern of yours, you can avoid this product.

The "tapin' of the grinder" is a lot quieter than with my old metal grinder!

It is small, but oh so cute and a good price.

I've been using it for about 3 weeks. No signs of wear. It is a very hard plastic that can be scraped with a sharp knife.
