Hi I am Captain Bob! Originally from Fort Lauderdale. But I have lived in the beautiful Florida Keys for 50 years. I have been a commercial captain the the Keys for over 30 years…but taking boats to the Bahamas much much earlier than that. But that is a story for in person!

Hello, my name is Mike. I was born in Utah and raised in California and Arizona as a child.

I joined the Army at the age of seventeen after graduating high school. I served for twenty two years as a Combat Medic and as a Physician Assistant.

My retirement present to myself was to become a Dive Instructor and teach overseas. My first teaching job was in Fiji, and I spent another year teaching in Mexico. However, Key Largo is my home now and I love to share our reefs with all that come visit our magical island.

Captain Robert Saylor is a Florida Keys native, born in Key West and raised in Key Largo. He has been sailing and diving since age 12 and has run a variety of sailing, sightseeing, and dive charters since getting his captain’s license in 2017

I’m Caesar and I became Dive Certified and began Scuba Diving August 1986. I have been Diving ever since for both work and pleasure. My childhood friend and I used to watch Jacques Cousteau’s Under Sea World and as a result became interested in and wanted to experience the undersea world ourselves, so we became Dive Certified.

Hey I am Kevin! I was born and raised in Arizona, and married with three children. I served as a police officer for 24 years as a K9 Officer, Sergeant and Detective retiring August 1, 2021.

I’m a curious person and a prior detective and knowing only 5% of earths oceans have been charted and explored, I was impelled to become a certified diver and start exploring the ocean.

I am originally from Detroit and spent the majority of my years as a Porsche Mechanic from Detroit. However Detroit had one big problem – no sailing, and it was cold…basically always. So I headed south to Sunny South Florida!

Hello everyone! My name is Shelby and I am a PADI IDC Staff Instructor and the general manager of Silent World Dive Center. I am a life long Floridian and I spent the ages of 0-10 living on a sailboat with my family in Coconut Grove, Fl. I love everything that has to do with the ocean and the majority of my time is spent scuba diving, snorkeling, kite boarding and sailing.

Howdy! My name is Mallory and I’m from Manhattan Kansas! I fell in love with the ocean when I was 4 years old and dreamt of living by the water since then. I began scuba diving when I was 16 and I am working towards becoming a dive master! I love to teach, inform, and make people smile. My goal is to help as many people enjoy and love the ocean as much as I do!

Hi everyone! My name is Gabrielle, but I also go by G (yes, just the letter G!). I’m originally from Canada but moved around a bunch growing up and have spent most of my time in the US. Wanting to be a mermaid doctor eventually led to me attaining a degree at the University of Miami. Covid unfortunately cut my time there short, but it did lead into me pursuing marine mammal training in the Keys where I worked as a dolphin trainer for two years before moving over to fisheries biology at FWC. Wanting to explore more of the underwater world led me to pursue diving more and now you can find me at Silent World telling anyone who will listen about dolphins and manatees (and the odd fish)!

My favorite dive site in the keys is Train Wheels reef! My favorite restaurant is Burdine’s.

What’s up guys! My name is Jolisa :) I’m a shop girl and a future PADI dive master here at Silent World. My first time scuba diving was in Summer 2021 for my open water course and after that I fell in love with diving. I’ve been an AAUS scientific diver for about 2 years now. I really like the research side of diving but recently I decided to spice things up and get into the recreational side and I love it! If you’re curious about scuba diving come on down and give it a try. I look forward to seeing you here at the shop :)

I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia and have lived in Miami for the past 20 years.

I founded Grove Scuba in 2006 and I am a PADI Platinum Course Director. I am also a CPR and First Aid Instructor Trainer, as well as a DAN Instructor Trainer who is actively involved in diver safety training.

My name is Michael and I’m originally from Syracuse NY. I have been diving since I was 10, and am now a PADI Open Water Instructor and enjoy teaching and guiding in the keys! Recently I obtained my degree from the University of Miami and hope to continue to share my passion for the ocean and diving with others!

Hello! I’m Ashlyn and I am from Atlanta, Georgia! Growing up in an inland state I found my passion for the ocean through volunteering on the manta ray and whale shark care team at the Georgia Aquarium. This experience inspired me to study environmental sustainability at Florida International University! After obtaining my degree I moved to Hawai’i to become a Scuba diving instructor! Diving is my true passion and I love being able to educate and inform about our oceans, while also being able to show off our beautiful underwater world. When I’m not diving, I am teaching youth sailing at the Sailing Club here in Key Largo! My favorite dive site is the City of Washington wreck. I get to see my bestest fish friend Gracie there! I absolutely love living here in the Keys and living out my dream of being by the ocean. An I love to eat at Sal’s Ballyhoo’s.

Hey everyone! My name is Alex and I am an open water scuba instructor and a conservation biologist specializing in coral reef restoration. I’m originally from Arizona and have done coral restoration in the Florida keys as well as spent some time in Madagascar building artificial reefs in their marine sanctuary. I predominately deckhand for silent world because I love getting to show people the coral reefs and all the marine life, on my time off I enjoy traveling, music, and paddle boarding.

My favorite dive site in the keys is Horseshoe Reef, I find it the best place to find Eagle Rays! My favorite restaurant is Key Thai.

Hi there my name is Cecelia! I am a divemaster and shop girl here at Silent World! I am originally from Illinois but grew up in Chengdu, China. I lived in China for 10 years, and was very lucky to be able to dive in South East Asia. The reefs in Thailand and Indonesia made me fall in love with scuba diving when I was 9 years old! This inspired me to pursue a degree in Conservation and Restoration Ecology. I now am working in marine conservation and education with a local non-profit in Key Largo!

I am originally from North Carolina which is home to the ‘Graveyard of the Atlantic’ offering some of the world’s most intriguing wreck dives. But nothing compares to the diving here in Key Largo – with a fantastic mix of storied wrecks and vibrant reefs, there truly is something for every type of diver!

My passion is helping divers from around the world discover these amazing dive sites. Whether it’s as a guide, helping you get certified, teaching a refresher course, working as first mate on our beautiful boat, The Phoenix, or simply swapping dive stories at the shop, I look forward to sharing my love for the underwater, dare I say it…’silent’ world with you!

Hello, my name is Emily! Originally from Wisconsin, I wanted to escape winter and ended up in the Keys! When I’m not a deck hand on the boat you can find me working as a dental assistant or out on my paddle board exploring the mangroves. Conservation of our oceans and coastlines is a huge passion of mine and I do regular shoreline cleanups, trash pickup dives, participate in lionfish derbies, and I have my own jewelry brand where I make jewelry out of lionfish fins! I hope to see you on out the boat soon!

Hey there, I’m Amanda! I am born and raised in Clearwater, FL. Growing up I always knew I wanted to become a marine biologist and work underwater. In 2018, I graduated from USF with my degree in marine biology and after graduation I decided to become a dive instructor. I have loved teaching new students how to dive ever since! In 2021, I decided to take my education a step further and began my master’s degree at the University of Miami. I worked in the Ocean Acidification Lab studying local impacts on Caribbean coral health. I have a strong passion for coral reef conservation, research, and education. I am always happy to share my passion with new people!
