Fire up the grills for the Midwest’s best Patty Party!

At least a handful of Chicago eateries will be partners in the tasty annual happening when Roscoe Village Burger Fest returns for its 17th mouth-watering year this July. Trust us when we say that they go to extraordinary lengths to impress burger aficionados.

When you add in two stages of rockin’ music, arts & crafts and the action-packed “Kids Zone” area, sizzling hot is the only way to describe this wildly popular Windy City food and music street happening.

In addition, over the weekend visitors even have the opportunity to vote for Chicago’s Best Burger!

A $10 suggested fest donation benefits the invaluable programs and services of the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce.

Byron’s Hot Dog

Don’t be misled by the name! Family-owned-and operated, Byron’s (with locations on Irving Park Rd. and on Lawrence Ave.) has been a Chicago fixture since 1975 with (trust us!) mind-boggling offerings far beyond franks. More than a dozen juicy burgers are on the menu. They include everything from double and triple cheeseburgers to veggie, turkey and steak patties.

Bust Outs

Their storefront may be small, but man, their burgers pack a punch!  Located in Jefferson Park, Bust Outs is a new addition to Roscoe Village Burger Fest!  Their “L” Avated burgers (and chicken in store) are named after none other than the “L” train!  From the “Green Line” which includes avocado and ghost pepper cheese to the “Yellow Line” which includes pineapple and sweet chili sauce, your taste buds will be in overload after just one bite.

Epic Burger

Epic Burger opened in Chicago in 2008 and today has 9 locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Epic Burger’s big idea is to offer more people an opportunity to eat non-processed, all-natural food at a reasonable price. They’re beef, chicken, chicken tenders and hot dog are all certified halal. By offering a premium product, we would like to stimulate thought around how food is raised, grown, transported, processed and packaged.

Chicago Dog House

While their name may be a bit deceiving, don’t be mistaken that they can make one juicy, topping filled burger (because let’s be real, a burger is good because of the toppings).  Their Lincoln Park spot on Clybourn is constantly busy and serving up various patties including the Cali burger, Greektown burger and a mean veggie burger.  We can’t wait to see what they bring to the fest.

Fatso’s Last Stand

Located on Chicago Avenue in Ukrainian Village, Fatso’s started with the concept of a hamburger/hot dog stand and took it to the next level. It’s a snack bar, a family place, and a late-night food haven. Be sure to check out their mouth-watering single (or double) “Fatso Burger”.

Lola’s Coney Island

Established in 2019, Lola’s Coney Island may sound like a hot dog joint but they’re oh so much more. Owner-operator Jesse Fakhoury is the force behind Lola’s, named after his four-year-old daughter. Jesse was born and raised in Detroit, MI and after years of living in Chicago, Jesse saw the opportunity to bring the Michigan Coney Island dog to the people of Chicago.  But his menu has expanded since to include sandwiches, salads and burgers.  Be sure to try their Lola’s Burger which includes diced pickles, diced onions, Hoffman’s cheddar and housemade aioli on a sweet Hawaiian bun.

Reclaimed Bar & Restaurant

Reclaimed Bar and Restaurant has been delighting customers for over six years now.  A Southern Gastro Pub with live music and crafted cocktails arguably makes one of the best burgers in Chicago.  Co-Owners Adrienne Fasano and Craig Bell are focused on delivering an optimal experience when it comes to food, music and booze. Our two featured burgers; the “Reclaimed” Burger and Lamb Burger.  Neither mess around when it comes to the perfect combination of handmade meat patties and bun smothered with our special sauces.  Come try out one or both as we compete for “best burger”.

Reggies Chicago

They are out to keep their Critic’s Choice title this year and for good reason … there burgers are top notch!  Back on State St., their chef cooks up everything from chicken wings to their almost famous Reuben.  But here on Belmont Ave., it’s all about their burgers.   If you’re looking for something different, be sure to try their Chorizo Burger which is full of flavor and pairs perfectly with their mac ‘n cheese.

Robinson’s

Ribs may be in their name but you better believe they make one mean burger (smoky perhaps)? Hailing from Mississippi, owner Charlie Robinson continues to perfect the barbecue sauce that was passed down from his grandfather (it’s over 200 years old!).  His angus burger is seasoned to perfection and you better believe he’ll be bringing that sauce to top it with.  We are excited to welcome this newbie to Burger Fest!

Select Cut Steakhouse

Select Cut has been a proud Burger Fest vendor from Day One. Located on Halsted Street near Diversey, they have a well-deserved  reputation as a friendly, casual neighborhood eatery known for its top quality steaks and burgers. This includes both their award-winning steak burger and tasty namesake “Select Cut” burger. Seafood, ribs and more are also on their menu. Family-owned and operated, the owners take pride in making sure every customer is pleasantly pleased with their broad menu offerings.

The StopAlong

The StopAlong opened in August 2016, providing the neighborhood with a casual, throwback pizzeria and bar just steps from the 606. The playful and nostalgic atmosphere of The StopAlong harkens back to childhood and puts a smile on the face of young and old alike. We serve the best NY-style, thin crust pizza & griddled burgers around. Everything is made from scratch daily using only high-quality, fresh ingredients.

Tandoor Char House

Indian food and burgers?  The unlikely combination definitely works when Tandoor Char House is behind the grill!  Owners and brothers Fahim and Faraz Sardhari have been creating dishes they watched their parents make long ago — but with a twist!  At this fest, be sure to sample their Tandoor Lamb Slider that pairs well with their Chaat fries.  Or maybe you’re in the mood for something vegetarian like their Aloo Tikki Slider.  Regardless, you will be wanting more!

We have two contests for “Best Burger” at this year’s fest!

chicagoburgerbibleSamantha Esposito from Chicago Burger Bible

Samantha has been meticulously rating Chicago burgers using a ridiculously detailed spreadsheet for years now- just your average Type A Nut Job. After the 300th friend asked for a copy, she finally decided to open up the un-scientific analysis to the public. Give the people what they want, ya know?
