When yields ratcheted lower, bonds were no longer able to offer downside protection. But the great yield reset and the prospect of #inflation falling further means that's no longer the case. https://bit.ly/4eDnC8f For professional investors in Switzerland only.

For investment professionals only. The fixed income investable universe has grown significantly since the Optimal Income strategy was introduced in December 2006. Bonds yields are elevated and as a result we think there is more income potential for the patient fixed income investor. The bond market is back on its feet, and bonds are no longer the boring asset class. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eW75bRN5 Capital at risk.

The results of the study reinforce that companies with employees in Switzerland should actively and regularly review their pension fund arrangements to ensure they are getting competitive rates and appropriate services for their employees’ needs. Long-time loyal customers often miss out on reduced risk premiums unless they take the initiative to renegotiate terms. Existing affiliation contracts are often renewed with unchanged conditions for years. https://lnkd.in/g3SaQDHb #employeebenefits #insurancebroker #switzerland

Lucerne Alternative Investments Fund
The Lucerne Alternative Investments Fund (LAIF) June 2024 Factsheet is now live on our website. Our report examines the unusual persistence of the inverted yield curve, which usually signals a recession. Despite this inversion and historical parallels, a downturn has yet to occur, likely due to large government spending, prompting caution and a reassessment of market risks. You can read our insights and analysis at the link below: #Alts #Alternativeinvestments #investments #performance

Every new blockbuster erodes public's tolerance for "high" prices (e.g. PDABs, price controls), decreasing other biotechs' chances at success. Here's a roadmap for restoring tolerance & inspiring. https://lnkd.in/e8SS-78x No half-heroes. It's not enough to just invent a great drug and sell it successfully... every company has to make sure to inspire the public to appreciate the value they are paying for out of their premiums. We need a campaign that converts tolerance into understanding and understanding into inspiration. This is not only up to companies to do with their vast marketing resources but also for biotech hub states to do. Massachusetts is about to celebrate biotechnology and promote itself as a state proud of its innovators, all the while sending some of the most anti-innovation policymakers to Washington year after year pushing for price controls instead of solving affordability for patients by addressing out of pocket costs (what's the point of a copay for chemo? where's the moral hazard? Do our Senators think people wil fake cancer to score chemo if it's free to them?). Price controls on novel medicines (e.g. PDABs targeting Trikafta, IRA 9y pill penalty) are the result of anger over out of pocket costs imposed by insurance but misdirected at innovators. No amount of tax breaks and subsidies will make up for policy that functionally causes our true customers, the premium-paying public, to stop pay for new medicines. Nor is it even in the public's interest to do so: Excerpt: The idea that we can choose to pay more for innovation or pay less if we’re willing to go without innovation is false. If we don’t invent medicines, we’ll just end up spending more in the long run. The only way we can look forward to longer, healthier, and more productive lives is if we invent our way out of increasingly expensive hospitals and nursing homes. Concentration risk can lie hidden in traditional diversified portfolios, emerging in the tails of return distributions. Research by Julien Royer, a Quant Analyst in our Multi Asset team, shows how alternative risk premia can reduce this threat by enhancing diversification beyond the centre of distributions. Musings of the Day, 6/19/24: The talk about China financing all of these infrastructure projects around the world "with a pristine balance sheet" while the "US dithers with a bloated balance sheet" not to mention the argument that the "untenable" US Debt/GDP puts the USD in terminal decline misses 2 KEY POINTS: 1. FX is RELATIVE, and almost every Fiat alternative is worse. It’s not just Debt/GDP that matters but a whole lot more. Also, PBOC Balance Sheet is a House of Cards and will need to consolidate the underlying LGFV metastasis soon. 2. Over the last several decades, the CCP has HOLLOWED OUT its Consumers to finance these infrastructure projects -- to replicate the NATURAL Geographic Advantages that the US already has. I've written extensively about these topics over the years, but here is one of my first Threads about it, which is still 100% relevant. https://lnkd.in/g7DSjEyG

The "Volatility Valuation Index" proved to be quite reliable ... again.... Mind you this is a SETUP tool, to locate EXTREMES in Volatility. It is NOT a SIGNAL tool, to be used for entries / timing. That said, its accuracy sometime can be impressive. But even under these circumstances, I do not use it as a timing tool (Works across all markets & timeframes) https://lnkd.in/eZytNPTt =============================================== WHERE TO FROM HERE ? =============================================== "Knowledge is the only Treasure that increases by sharing"... ..that is why I share Charts & Stats about: 💻 Trading / 📈 Technical Analysis / 🌍 Macros If you are interested in these topics, you can receive: 1. My 2 cents (or maybe 3 due to inflation) is that the ECB needs to cut hard. Data are woeful (output, consumption, employment) and should warrant multiple cuts through the end of 2024. As well, time lags mean we are still not through the effects of the hikes. The only data point looks hot is inflation itself and that is exactly where the ECB would have dreamt of it being a decade or so ago. My outlandish prediction for 2024 was an ECB contemplating QE by year end. Not the base case for sure, but could be a slighter higher probability event heading into 2025. #ecb #rates #macro
