🚨 OUT NOW: 2024 Global Report on Internal Displacement 75.9 million people, the most ever recorded, were living in #internaldisplacement at the end of 2023.    New escalations in conflict, such as in #Sudan and #Gaza, forced millions of people to flee their homes in 2023. Millions were already living in displacement, mainly from ongoing or previous conflicts. 🚨 Over the past five years, the number of people living in internal displacement has grown by half. From 41.5 million in 2018 to a record high of 75.9 million at the end of 2023.     Without lasting solutions to displacement, the number will likely continue to rise. #DYK: Indonesia has one of the most advanced disaster displacement monitoring systems worldwide. 🌏     #Indonesia's InaRISK system, a risk analysis information system managed by the country's National Disaster Management Agency, uses displacement data to predict and mitigate the impacts of disaster displacement. When Storm Daniel hit #Libya in September last year, the floods caused significant damage and displacement in vulnerable communities.
