Hidrostal pumps protects the European Eels of Marais D’Orx 🤝 The beautiful nature reserve of Marais D’Orx in South-West France, owned by Le conservatoire du littoral, consists of 1000 hectares of lakes, woodlands and wetlands. The last protected major coastal wetland on the Aquitaine coast, it plays a vital role in flood control, but is also the habitat to an abundance of species including the endangered European Eel. In order to provide the pumping requirement for the station upgrade that would also ensure the safety of the migratory eels, Hidrostal France closely collaborated with fellow Hidrostal group company, Bedford Pumps, the fish friendly pump specialists 🐟 Hidrostal provided three submersible axial flow fish friendly canister pumps to La Réserve naturelle du marais d’Orx, to replace the existing pumps onsite. Each pump passes 833 litres per second of river water at 5m head. Hidrostal’s range of fish friendly pumps are proven to pass fish and eels without mortality, ensuring the continued lifeline of the eels. The Marais D’Orx is surrounded by a network of dykes and canals, which will lead the eels to the Atlantic Ocean and hence back to their spawning grounds in the Sargasso sea. 🌍 Read the full case study via the link in the captions below. #pumps #fishfriendly #fishsafe #floodcontrol #hidrostal

💥 A passion for pumping inspires loyalty and leadership at Hidrostal 💥 A recent visit to our Hidrostal North America division by our Group CEO Rolf Schweizer led to an interesting discussion between the two leaders regarding career paths and opportunities at Hidrostal. Richard Fowler, the President of our US subsidiary is a British native, who will shortly be granted his American citizenship. Last year he celebrated his 15-year long service award with Hidrostal. He can however trace his heritage with the company back even further than that. Originally from a service centre background, he spent 11 years at our UK division, Avonmouth Engineering Services t/a Hidrostal Engineering UK before it became part of the Hidrostal group. In their discussion Richard discloses what is it that attracted him to Hidrostal, and what to this day, keeps him passionate about the company. Hidrostal welcomes Gary Restall as Finance Director of UK Group 🤝   The UK Managing Director, along with the Hidrostal Group CEO and the Swiss Board of Directors, has appointed Gary Restall as the new Finance Director of Hidrostal (GB) Ltd. Hidrostal (GB) is the holding company incorporating the three UK Hidrostal group divisions, Avonmouth Engineering Services, Bedford Pumps and Hidrostal Ltd. Gary joined the company back in January 2024 and over the past few months has been instrumental in aligning the UK’s fiscal workflows with corporate objectives to gain full visibility of our status. Gary has worked within the finance industry for the past 26 years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience across multiple subsidiaries. Hidrostal’s strategic partnership expands Italian market reach 🤝 In order to increase our presence and market penetration in the Italian wastewater market, Hidrostal has entered into a cooperation with SCM Tecnologie Srl (SCM). SCM has been exclusively serving the wastewater market on behalf of Hidrostal in all Italian regions, excluding South Tyrol, since March 1, 2024. The company is managed directly by our subsidiary Hidrostal Process Engineering AG (Hidrostal Switzerland) who have been responsible for the Italian market since 1989. SCM was founded in 1997 in Mantova (Lombardy) and its core business is the sale of mixer and aeration systems, mainly for wastewater treatment plants. ♻️ SCM shares Hidrostal’s values of high-quality production and sustainable solutions and is ISO 9001 certified.
