Great article by Drug Discovery World about the efficiency and attractivity of the Swiss Biotech ecosystem (DDW, July the 3rd, 2024) ! Diana Spencer, the author, highlights several elements that boost innovation including : - the presence of leading research centers - the strong regional hubs and the quality of the infrastructures - the exceptional pool of qualified talents I would also like to underline another element which I believe is unique in the Swiss ecosystem: - the dense network of seasoned consultants - reputable subcontractors While startups are often in the spotlight, the role of these actors is pivotal in the health economy. They bring not only subject matter expertise but also a profound experience in resolving life sciences' unique challenges. Representing a significant part of the ecosystem, they act as a dynamic catalyst for operational achievements among startups. These Swiss service providers are invaluable and cover the whole value chain of Biotech innovation from discovery to market such as (pre-)clinical development, regularity/medical affairs, market access, strategy, marketing, industrialization... I am immensely thankful for their significant contributions to the Swiss efficacious ecosystem in Biotech (and other health technologies) !

Un rapport intéressant et très complet sur les effets indésirables de la vaccination contre le COVID-19 en suisse. Il est intéressant de remarquer que la plupart des effets secondaires déclaré se situe dans la tranche d'âge la moins à risque des effet de la maladie (18-44 ans).
📊En date du 30 juin 2024, Swissmedic a évalué 17 575 déclarations d’effets indésirables (EI) dus à des vaccins contre le COVID-19 en Suisse. Le rapport bénéfice-risque des vaccins utilisés reste globalement positif.✅ https://bit.ly/4crssUF

📢 Exciting news and a major achievement for animal welfare and for the advancement of modern in vitro approaches for pyrogenicity testing! 📢 At its 179th session in June 2024, the European Pharmacopoeia (#PhEur) Commission adopted 57 revised texts from which the rabbit pyrogen test #RPT has been deleted, together with a new general chapter on Pyrogenicity (5.1.13), marking the end of the RPT era in the Ph. Eur. By 1 July 2025, the use of #RPT will no longer be required, and medicine developers will need to select suitable in vitro tests, such as the monocyte-activation test, to control the pyrogenicity of their product, based on a risk assessment as described in the new general chapter.
