We're celebrating #DiversityandInclusion across our company! 😍 🟣 In Poland, our #RealPeopleofClariant organized a culinary event where our team members from Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, Peru, India, Venezuela, and Kazakhstan showcased their culinary skills and shared cultural stories. It was a wonderful journey connecting each other through shared experiences and rich traditions. 🌮🥟🍛 🟣 In Frankfurt, our colleagues organized an #InclusionDay with Berufsbildungswerk Südhessen gGmbH, raising awareness about people with special needs. Through various activities, our colleagues experienced scenarios similar to those faced by people with special needs. This fostered a deeper understanding and celebration of each one’s unique strengths. 🟣 Across other sites in Germany, our team members celebrated with diversity tables, international dishes, women talks, and discussions on work-life balance. In Heufeld and Höchst, their efforts also supported local causes, with donations raised for a local inclusive soccer club & a food bank.🥗 Each event highlighted the value of embracing our unique qualities, strengthening our company through #diversity and #inclusion! 🤝 #DiversityMatters #WeLiveTheDifference #GreaterChemistry #OneTeam

Energized by the time spent with our #RealPeopleofClariant at our Tokyo office and Toyama production site. #Japan is bouncing back economically, marked by the end of deflation and a return to steady growth. This is supported by policymakers who are effectively combining monetary, fiscal, trade, and industrial policies to boost productivity. In 2023, Japan's economy grew by 3.5%, the highest since the early 1990s. Although the growth forecast for 2024 is lower but it's expected to pick up again in 2025. Japan is leading in #semiconductors and new energy transformation, and our local R&D teams are well positioned to drive progress in these critical areas. I’m grateful for our engaging discussions and proud of Toyama’s impressive milestone of 7 years with no injury incidents; a testament to the team’s commitment to #safety and excellence. Feeling energized from my recent visit to our Heufeld site in Germany together with the HR Leadership Team! One of the highlights was our engaging roundtable discussion and Q&A session. This exchange was invaluable in listening to the team’s perspectives and building stronger connections.   The site tour was another great moment. It was fascinating to see how our catalysts are produced and learn from the team how they make chemical processes more efficient while significantly reducing environmental impact. One very nice example was our energy-efficient catalyst technologies, which reduced over 35 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent across various industries in 2022. That’s more than Switzerland's total CO2 emissions in 2021.   Seeing the dedication and passion of our teams was truly inspiring. Their commitment to excellence and sustainability is a major factor in our company’s success. We’re lucky to have such talented and motivated #RealPeopleofClariant. It was also great to meet our apprentices and see that the next generation is enthusiastic and well-prepared!   The insights gained and the connections made during this visit will definitely help us continue to grow and succeed. I’m looking forward to building on this momentum and achieving even more together!

Innovative strides are being made at our Clear Lake plant, USA! A green belt project to reduce steam utilization has recently been completed, and the results are impressive: 🔰 Improved automation controls 🔰 Decreased steam distribution losses 🔰 Direct steam injection for water heating 🔰 Reduced open steam heating As a result, we're on track to cut steam expenses and lower Scope 2 CO2 emissions by an estimated 1,682.4 metric tons in 2024! This milestone moves us closer to our global sustainability goal of reducing Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030. 🌿 Remember our #RealPeopleofClariant’s first visit to the Associação Ambientalista Copaíba? Well, our team in Suzano had such an inspiring experience that they couldn't wait to return! 😀 For those who missed the first news, the Associação Ambientalista Copaíba is dedicated to restoring riparian forests and promoting environmental education. Through the Araçá Project, we're partnering to plant 1'200 native seedlings in the Peixe & Camanducaia river basins. 🌱 During this second visit, our team delved deeper into the #TreePlanting cycle, from seed preparation to planting-ready seedlings. They also explored important topics like diversity, with a focus on female representation within the association. Such visits help raise awareness within our team and the local community, fostering a deeper understanding for environmental conservation. It was a great pleasure to visit Wanhua Chemical Group, one of the largest and most successful chemical producers in #China. I am proud that Wanhua has honored #Clariant with an Innovation Award, recognized us as an A-level supplier, and awarded us the prize for Strategic Supplier. It was wonderful to meet in person with Mr. Liao Zengtai, Chairman of the Wanhua Group, to review our ongoing projects and exciting future growth plans. Opportunities enabled by #ArtificialIntelligence, leveraging our CLARITY platform, will provide fast insights into #catalyst performance. This data will be crucial for optimizing operations across diverse chemical processes. We also discussed advancing #eMethanol projects to support the production of clean fuels and chemicals in China. At Clariant, we are committed to driving #innovation and continued growth in China, a cornerstone of our global strategy. Investing in China for China underscores our dedication to contribute positively to China’s sustained economic expansion.
