CBRE Investment Properties successfully advised on the sale of two commercial assets in the city of Fribourg. Each property was acquired by a different private investor, which underlines the unabated interest of private investors in the commercial real estate sector.

CBRE was pleased to assist COPRÉ in defining and implementing a portfolio strategy leading to the sale of 11 residential assets in Switzerland, in Yverdon-les-Bains (VD), Lucens (VD), Paudex (VD), Nyon (VD), Bütschwil (SG), Wil (SG), Goldach (SG), Erlen (TG) x3 and Rickenbach (TG). The diverse nature of the assets in terms of location, volume and ESG profile reflects CBRE's proficiency in managing complex portfolio transactions. CBRE has advised a private investor in the definition, sourcing and acquisition of a residential property in the city of Fribourg. Through its wide market presence, CBRE has proactively identified a property which could be acquired by its client through an off-market process following an exstensive due-diligence process. This transaction echoes the strong activity of private investors over the last 12 months.

The property has recently undergone extensive renovation works and is sustainably heated. This transaction demonstrates the continued high demand for residential assets in excellent condition with strong sustainable features. The fulfilment of ESG criteria is becoming increasingly important, especially for the institutional sector.

The Basel life sciences ecosystem and the regional real estate market have gone through a transition over the last decade, from being largely owner-occupied to a rental market for laboratory and office spaces. With the opening of former inner-city industrial sites (e.g. Stücki, Klybeck, Rosental Mitte, Novartis Campus), increasing government economic development activities, and growing investor appetite, further laboratory potential has opened for smaller companies and start-ups.
