A native of Italy, Serato arrived in the U.S. with only $200 in his pocket. He worked hard and eventually started his own critically acclaimed restaurant, Anaheim White House. When he learned about children going to bed hungry right here in the backyard of such great wealth, he started feeding them and today serves 5,000 hot pasta dinners each night in Southern California. For his humanitarian work, he was named a CNN Hero, knighted by the Italian government and the House of Savoy, earned the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, received a papal blessing from Pope Francis, was recognized by Congress on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. He accepts these accolades to generate public awareness of food scarcity in the U.S. Visit www.caterinasclub.org
