Providence Academic Calendars
The academic calendar lists start and end dates for classes, in addition to holidays and makeup class meeting dates (as applicable). These calendars are offered for planning purposes only and are subject to change.
For financial aid purposes, the definition of an academic year is a period in which a student completes 3 terms (quarter credit hours) which consists of 11 weeks for a total of 33 weeks. The academic calendar includes 3 terms (Fall, Winter and Spring); Summer is optional for undergraduate programs but may be required for some graduate programs.
Doctoral and Physician Assistant programs are semester based and may require a summer semester.
For the purposes of awarding Title IV financial aid, the payment period is the academic year.
