BS/MS Counseling

Through the BS/Counseling (MS) program, students can take up to 3 graduate-level courses during their senior year at no additional charge, then continue on to complete the Counseling (MS) program. Students who are majoring in Counseling Psychology or a related field may apply to the program. To be considered for admission to the BS/Counseling (MS) program, the following must be submitted or completed:

  1. A completed and signed Acknowledgement Checklist Form, available in the Graduate Admissions Office
  2. A completed application for graduate admission, marking the BS/Counseling (MS) box under the Special Programs Selection section
  3. Statement of Purpose: an essay explaining your motivation, aptitude and goals related to graduate-level study
  4. 3 letters of recommendation. Recommendations should be from individuals qualified to attest to the applicant’s potential for success at the graduate level of study. A personal reference form may be substituted for the recommendation letters.
  5. Current résumé or CV
  6. Completion of these undergraduate courses with a grade of C or better: General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Statistics or Research Methods
  7. Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  8. Personal interview
