Catalog Addendum

On March 23rd, 2017, the Undergraduate and Graduate tabs of the Grading System  page were amended to reflect the following changes to course withdrawal information:

  • The grades WP and WF were removed and all information regarding the grades deleted.
  • To record attempted credits, a grade of W is recorded when a student withdraws from a registered course.

On March 23rd, 2017, the Course Withdrawal and the Term/University withdrawal tabs of the Withdrawal  page were amended to reflect the following changes to course withdrawal information:

  • The grades WP and WF were removed and all information regarding the grades deleted.
  • A grade of W will be issued for each withdrawn course and recorded on the transcript as attempted credits. This grade is not calculated in the grade point average. 

On March 27th, 2017, the Advanced Placement Credit  catalog page was altered to reflect the decision to award transfer credit for Advanced Placement tests.

On March 29th, 2017, the Courses  page was amended to include information about the course numbering system. 

  • Update: On February 12th, 2018, the Course Numbering System  page was added to indicate information regarding the course numbering system.

As of April 5th, 2017, the Software Engineering  BS degree program will not be offered at the North Miami campus.

On April 6th, 2017, the Tuition and Fees  page was modified to add the fee for Student Health Insurance Program, which is $1,824 annually for those who qualify.

On April 11th, 2017, the University Withdrawal Credit Policy page was modified to include the following information:

  • Refunds for non-Title IV students will be made within 30 days.
  • If a student withdraws during the first week of the term, the university will credit 100% of tuition only, and room and meals will be credited by 90%. The university will credit 90% of the term charges if a student withdraws during the second week of the term.
  • The New Student Fee and Student Health Insurance are non-refundable.

On April 17th, 2017, the Corporation and Trustees  page was modified to reflect changes to the Members of the Corporation and the Officers of the Corporation.  Thomas L. Dwyer, MBA, no longer occupies the position of provost, but remains the vice chancellor and executive vice president. 

On April 17th, 2017, the University Leadership  page was modified to reflect changes to the position titles of university leadership.  Thomas L. Dwyer, MBA, no longer occupies the position of provost, but remains the vice chancellor and executive vice president.

On April 17th, 2017, the following information was removed from the Institutional Aid page: all information relating to the MBA/MS Scholarship.

On April 17th, 2017, the Federal Grants and Loans  page was modified to include the following information:  the average amount of loan debt for a student completing a four year degree at Johnson & Wales University for FY 2016 was $32,080.

On April 17th, 2017, the Federal Grants and Loans  page was modified to include the following information:  the average amount of loan debt for a student completing a graduate degree at Johnson & Wales University for FY 2016 was $45,715.

On May 17th, 2017, the Academic Standing  page was modified to reflect changes in the academic standing standards for graduate programs:

  • Graduate students and 4+1 BS/MBA/MS program students are allowed a maximum of two terms on probation.
  • The academic standing standards for graduate students table was altered to reflect the addition of a second probation term.

On May 26th, 2017, the University Leadership  page was modified to include to the following information:  Tarun Malik ’90 MS, ’11 EdD, has replaced Robert C. Mock Jr., EdD, as the president of the Charlotte Campus.

On May 26th, 2017, the Corporation and Trustees  page was modified to remove the following information:  information regarding Robert C. Mock Jr., EdD.

On June 7th, 2017, the SHARP  page was modified to include the following information:  details regarding the effect of SHARP participation on program completion. Additionally, information was added stipulating that English as a Second Language classes are not included in the GPA calculation to determine eligibility for SHARP.

On June 7th, 2017, the following information was removed from the SHARP  page:  information stating that the benefits provided by SHARP are not applicable during full time internship terms or for an additional culinary/pastry laboratory class. 

On June 29th, 2017, the Accreditations and Approvals  page was modified to update the contact details for the Office of the Provost.

On July 31st, 2017, the English Proficiency Requirements  page was modified to reflect updates to the scores required on English proficiency examinations to constitute acceptable proof of English proficiency. 

On October 11th, 2017, the Academic Standing  page was modified to reflect the following changes:

  • Replacement of “4+1 program” with “Accelerated Master’s Program.”
  • Clarification regarding the Academic Standing Standards for English as a Second Language students.
  • Removal of the withdrawal grade “WF.”
  • Addition of undergraduate requirements for return to Johnson & Wales University after academic dismissal.

On December 14th, 2017, the Accreditations and Approvals  page was modified to include the following information:  details regarding the accreditation status of the Physician Assistant Studies Program sponsored by Johnson & Wales University.

On February 16th, 2018, the Experiential Education & Career Services  page was modified to add the following information:  the Experiential Education & Career Services department does not guarantee employment.
