Students should read and fully understand the rules, requirements and policies described in this catalog. Additionally, all enrolled students are expected to be familiar with the contents of the Providence Campus Student Handbook. The Providence Campus Student Handbook contains important information regarding academic performance and personal conduct of students as well as university grievance procedures. It also outlines the conditions under which students may be placed on probation or suspension from the university. The Providence Campus Student Handbook is available online. Copies of the Providence Campus Student Handbook and this catalog are also available at Student Academic & Financial Services.

Physician Assistant Program

JWU’s Physician Assistant (PA) Program is in development. The PA Program at JWU is a 24-month, 104-credit, full-time course of study. Upon successful completion, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies is awarded. The inaugural class begins in summer 2014.

Please note that this 2013–14 graduate catalog does not contain all pertinent information regarding this program. Please see the program’s webpage for relevant program information including 2014–15 tuition and fees, class start and stop dates, class progression requirements, etc. Please note that in the event that content provided on the Physician Assistant webpage is more restrictive or specific than the 2013–14 graduate catalog, the content referenced on the Physician Assistant webpage shall apply.

Accreditation

JWU’s PA program is in development and is currently seeking Accreditation-Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant Inc. (ARC-PA), which is the only entry way for new programs into the accreditation process.
