Hi everyone! This post is going to be a continuation of our previous post, Galápagos Trip – Part I, so if you haven't checked this blog out you totally should 🙂
Hi! My name is Diya Agarwal, a rising sophomore (’27) studying MechE + robotics at Caltech. Here’s a brief intro about me!
My long, arduous time at Caltech has finally come to an end. Along with seeing everyone else's graduation posts on Instagram, I've spent a lot of the last couple weeks
We both love baking and have too much flour and yeast. What better thing to do than put these extra components together to bake bread? We started by mixing together
Smorgasborg, open-air food market in LA!
While Caltech may be primarily known for its rigorous STEM-focused education, this does not mean Caltech students have no interests outside of their classes. Although we may spend many hours
To go off of a famous quote: If we want the rewards of going to a brand new city by ourselves and doing things our mother would never let us do (like having ice cream for dinner), we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of taking adequate care of ourselves.
An example of a current student’s strategy for creating and finalizing a college list.
Hi! My name is Diya Agarwal, and I’m a rising sophomore from sunny Miami, Florida in the mechanical engineering option. I’m really passionate about research in robotics for real-world applications, which is why I’m pursuing a minor in robotics! I’m currently involved in research at the Burdick Research Group, and I’m doing an off-campus robotics SURF in my hometown. On campus, I’m involved in Caltech Racing (the cool racecar club!) and Caltech Aarya, an Indian classical dance group. I’m also a BOC representative, where my responsibilities include upholding the honor code. In my spare time, I love to draw and paint, and I’m also a music lover and Netflix addict 🙂 I’m also a member of Avery House, where I love hanging out with my friends and exploring Pasadena and the LA area (especially for getting food).
Hi! I’m Priscilla Vazquez, but my friends call me Pri. I am a rising junior in Page House majoring in Mechanical Engineering.. I was born and raised in LA with Mexican roots. On campus, I serve as Vice President of the QuestBridge club and Social Director for the Caltech Hispanic and Latino Association (CHLA). Outside academics, I enjoy exploring places in Pasadena and LA, reading, and going to concerts!
Hey there! I’m Thanhthanh, also known as Noel, also known as a wide variety of other unofficial names around campus (hyperbolic tangent-squared, anybody?). I’m a junior studying Computer Science with a focus in Machine Learning, and I’m a proud member of Dabney Hovse, where I serve on the Executive Committee as the Steward. On campus, you can find me: stirring up a spice mix for House Grill Night, chatting with a friend over voice-call while Gaming™ in the lounge, or sketching crude representations of my day (because pictures are worth a thousand words!!!).
Hi! My name is Gabriella Twombly. I’m a senior in Fleming house studying computer science with a minor in information and data science. I’m originally from South Florida so I’m glad Southern California is also warm. I am also the current student body president (ASCIT), a member of the women’s volleyball team, and a member of affinity groups like the Society of Women Engineers. In my free time, I love to explore different areas of LA, volunteer with the Caltech Y, try new food, read novels, and play Overcooked 2.
Hi I’m Sulekha (su-lay-ka), a junior majoring in computer science and political science. I captain Caltech’s ultimate frisbee team and am on the Caltech Y’s ExComm. I grew up in the Pasadena area, but still love exploring all LA has to offer. I’m studying abroad in the UK at Cambridge University this fall. In my free time, you’ll catch me bullet journaling, rowing (a new study abroad hobby), reading the news, or surfing at the beach (as soon as I’m back in California)!
Hi! I’m Ria, a sophomore in Page House from Gainesville, Florida. I am majoring in Computation and Neural Systems & Business, Economics, and Management. On campus, I am part of the Society of Women Engineers, Caltech Data Science Organization, and am in training to be a Health Advocate. In my free time, I love hanging out with friends, hiking, photography, exploring LA and Pasadena, and trying out new food spots!
Hi! I’m a senior in Page and involved with a number of student organizations on campus. I’m Director of Operations in student government, part of the Executive Board for Asian Pacific Islander Desi Americans Plus (APIDA+), and involved with student publications like the literary magazine Looseleaf and the newspaper, The California Tech. Outside these activities, I enjoy spending time with friends outside on or off campus (like the Huntington Gardens), and love to read and get books from the local library.
Hello! I’m a rising junior, the current Dabney secretary, and I’m from Rockville, Maryland. In my free time I’m a freelance illustrator (you can find me on Twitter at @otaku_553) and I enjoy obscure video game lore and anime. If you ever want to know the connections between every final boss in the Kirby games or the whole Kingdom Hearts timeline, I’m your guy!
My name’s Santiago, I’m a junior in Page House. I’m from New York so it’s nice to get the warm weather out here in LA. I really like listening to music of all kinds and seeing live music is one of my favorite things to do. I’m also vegan, and I like to walk/hike.
Hey, my name is Dilichi and I am a current junior majoring in Computer Science. I’ve already had a passion for exploring the greater LA area and trying new places. Caltech is hard, so it’s always nice to find ways to relax. Whether on or off campus, there’s always fun ways to pass the time!
I’m an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor and the Admissions Officer in charge of our student blog! I grew up right here in Pasadena before venturing to the rural Midwest to study physics at a small liberal arts college. I now have the honor of bringing my passions for STEM and the small college experience to Caltech!
I flitter around here and there — from the coast of Vietnam, all the way to the scorching heat of Texas, and now to Pasadena! When I’m not daydreaming about the sea or the stars, I like to write fictions and poetry, watch movies, or swimming. I’m also a member of the TechLIT club and the Totem Literary Magazine on campus, and I’m very active in Dabney House, where I am currently the Vice-President and Health Advocate.
I’m a junior studying Biology, intending to minor in Chemistry and/or Environmental Science and Engineering. I’m from a small, rural town in Washington state about an hour north of Spokane. On campus I’m the founding President of HOSA- Future Health Professionals, a member of the Health Advocate and Peer Advocate programs, an Orange Watch volunteer, and I’ve participated in SURF on campus, the SURF Exchange with the University of Iceland, and Study Abroad! In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching Disney movies, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
