The CAJ Annual Newsroom Diversity Survey is a research initiative completed each year to collect data on the race and gender of journalists in newsrooms across the country. Prior to the CAJ taking on this initiative, no such data was being collected consistently in Canada. The CAJ is hopeful that this survey will become a table stakes exercise for news organizations operating in Canada and feels that it is integral that the data be made available to both the public and newsrooms alike.
