Montreal Canadiens star Brendan Gallagher and Emma Fortin tie the knot in 'wedding of our dreams'
The couple, who got engaged last July, held their event close to home at Montreal's Maison Principale.
Brendan Gallagher and Emma Fortin are a match made in heaven. The Montreal Canadiens right winger and the Quebec native tied the knot in a dream-like wedding over the weekend. On Sunday, Fortin shared an Instagram Reel that gave fans a sneak peek of the couple's wedding reception at Montreal's Maison Principale.
The clip featured Fortin walking down the centre of the event space with her hands in the air, as the room sparkled with lights and lit candles. The 27 year old wore a strapless white minidress with a large draping bow on the back, and captioned her post, "06/07/2024 — wedding of our dreams."
In the comments section of the post, fans expressed their happiness for the couple. Several people also shared their congratulations for the newlyweds's milestone.
"Like a little girl arriving at Disney Castle," one person wrote.
"Congrats!! So, so happy for you both," another raved.
"The princess of a life," someone penned in French. "I love you!"
"What a beautiful evening! Congratulations again," someone else added.
Fortin also took to her Instagram Stories with several photos of the event. On Sunday, she included snapshots and videos of her morning at the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal, her crystal-embellished strapless wedding gown and moments from the event.
Fellow NHL wife Angela Price, who's married to Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, also took to Instagram on Sunday to share a carousel of photos from the wedding. Her post included several group photos, one of which featured other NHL couples like Emily and Jake Evans, Julie and Jeff Petry as well as Nick Suzuki and Caitlin Fitzgerald.
For the wedding, the Prices matched in sleek all-black outfits. Carey opted for a blazer, buttoned shirt, long tie and slacks, while Angela wore a one-shoulder dress featuring a thigh-high slit. She captioned her post, "38 hours in Montreal."
Gallagher and Fortin got engaged last July during a "magical" trip to British Columbia. On July 7, 2023, 32-year-old Gallagher got down on one knee to propose to Fortin in Whistler, B.C. at Lost Lake. A post the couple shared to their Instagram accounts that weekend included sweet snapshots from the moment, with Gallagher getting down on one knee to a shocked Fortin, and a sweet embrace between the couple as she accepted his proposal.
The post's caption read, "07.07.2023 — forever and always."
