Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day.   It is a day to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and histories of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. To honour the day, we’re highlighting a Bell Let’s Talk Diversity Fund partner, Kehewin Native Dance Theatre (KNDT).   KNDT’s ‘Naskwahamâtowin - Let’s all share in the music’ project combines Make Music Matter’s Healing in Harmony therapy model with Indigenous music, languages, and culture to help address the mental health crisis in their community and other devastating effects of intergenerational trauma.   Listen to their music here: https://lnkd.in/g56nNCsh 📸 : Windspeaker Media/CJWE

We’re proud to help connect seniors with mental health care in Scarborough. A $1 million gift from #BellLetsTalk for the new Bell Seniors’ Mental Health Clinic will make a real difference for seniors in need of support. Congratulations to Scarborough Health Network Foundation (SHN Foundation) for opening this important centre.    Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gyzuAHh9

🎉 We are so proud to announce the grand opening of the new SHN Community Mental Health Centre at Warden & Eglinton in the heart of Scarborough. The centre was made possible entirely thanks to donors who donated $6 million through the Love, Scarborough campaign. The Centre ensures inclusive, stigma-free mental health care for the diverse community. By bringing together outpatient adult mental health services into a warm, welcoming community setting, SHN is breaking down barriers and transforming the narrative around mental health support!   Donors, SHN team members, the Hon. Doug Ford, the Hon. Sylvia Jones, and other government officials joined us to celebrate this significant milestone!    Inside, patients will have access to the following services: RBC Youth Mental Well-being Clinic, Bell Seniors’ Mental Health Clinic, The Slaight Family Foundation Cultural Psychiatry Clinic, and the Ray Gupta and Family Mood & Anxiety Clinic. Together, were transforming mental health care in Scarborough! 💙

Even champions need champions.     For every basket sank there are countless misses. For every record broken there’s an equal amount of fractures and tears. And for every critic, there’s a harsher one living inside of our heads. Just like young people living in Canada who have contacted Kids Help Phone 20 million times since January 2020, athletes understand how important it is to feel supported when it comes to mental health.      Athletes across Canada have come together to champion our #FeelOutLoud movement and remind all youth that their feelings ALWAYS have a place to go.     With your support, we can help unlock hope for millions of young people. Happy Pride Month! We want to celebrate our long-time Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund partner Rainbow Resource Centre, the longest continuously running 2SLGBTQIA+ resource centre in Canada. The Centre provides essential services like free short-term counselling, social support groups, workplace diversity/equity/inclusion training in workplaces, and education in schools. They support individuals from children to those 55+, as well as their families, friends, and employers. #BellLetsTalk is proud to support the Centre’s efforts to expand mental health services, enhance access to care, and build a network of resources with health partners to support 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across Manitoba. #Pride2024 #PrideSeason

Cue the celebrations! Through the Bell-Graham Boeckh Foundation Partnership, and together with the Government of Canada and other funders, we are proud to support the Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Network of Networks. This investment will help provincial, territorial and Indigenous IYS networks work together, alongside youth, to improve the way young people access mental health and substance use services.    Together, we are helping ensure young people have the support they need to thrive, no matter where in Canada they live.
