Role and Responsibilities


We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager for a 1-year term position. This person will help Innovasea’s Fish Tracking Software development teams become laser focused on delivering the most value possible for the company.

Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering the Technical Product Manager will be responsible for:

  • Working with stakeholders such as Product Managers, Tech Leads, Customer Success to understand each group's needs
  • Determining the relative priority of the work
  • Prioritizing tasks in agile / scrum development team backlogs
  • Explaining the stakeholder requests to the development teams
  • Facilitating scrum events such as:
  • Sprint Planning
  • Sprint Demo
  • Sprint Retrospective


Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years' experience working with scrum / agile teams
  • Experience working with cross functional and diverse teams
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders from various departments
  • An effective communicator, and demonstrated experience in presentation skills
  • Experience planning, monitoring, and reporting on project status for multiple initiatives/teams
  • Excellent time management skills to keep product development activities on schedule


Education

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. An equivalency of education and experience may be considered.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years in a Product Owner role or similar role in product management
  • High level understanding of software development processes
  • High level understanding of software architecture
