As part of the Game Experience Lab team you will support all of the Amazon game teams and provide specific and specialized feedback to help shape our games. You will join a group of game analysts and partner with game teams to understand design intentions and provide subjective feedback and comparative analysis. Within this role we are looking for someone who has a passion for playing games, has technical or artistic gaming expertise and is excited about influencing game features.

Key job responsibilities

As a Gameplay (3Cs) Analyst, You Will/may

  • Deliver feedback and analysis on player experience using your expertise in gameplay
  • General gameplay features/feel including progression, economy, AI balancing etc
  • Camera depth from player, field of vision, target lock behaviour etc
  • Control mapping, key bindings, responsiveness and navigation etc
  • Character design functionality, animations and movement etc
  • Provide gameplay feedback using game tools and/or from design documentation
  • Understand all gameplay features and guidelines from our game portfolio
  • Use technical/design gameplay knowledge to create and execute analyst strategy
  • Works closely with team to provide direct feedback and support
  • Analyze gameplay features while also providing specific competitor comparisons
  • Escalate features roadblocks/risks for game feature on how change might impact feedback or behavior

A day in the life

Working with internal teams to support their Production Stage Gates or deep dive into design feedback. Play external, released games to assess quality bar in the industry

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Toronto, ON, CAN

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops)
  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma for specific gaming discipline
  • Experience/knowledge in one or various of the following video game related fields: UI, level design, game engine and performance
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and production stage gates
  • Dedicated gamer for console, PC and mobile while understanding all types of game genres

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in writing video game reviews or participating in feedback forums ,
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills,
  • Experience in embedded quality assurance or in the video game industry
