  • Platform Calgary

    Platform is a 53,000 sq ft innovation centre, integrated into a modern parkade structure located in Calgary’s East Village (next to the New Central Library and National Music Centre). We were engaged by lead investors and partners to lead and facilitate community engagement, develop positioning strategy, experience design, prototype activations and secure a master operator and incubator to anchor the building opening in 2021.

  • Elko Engineering Garage

    -

    The Elko Engineering Garage is a 6,000 sq ft maker space, part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. The space provides students with access to workspace, community space and fabrication tools. We were engaged by the Faculty to lead development and activation of the space, including student engagement, experience design, program design and start-up operations.

  • Edmonton Startup Week

    -

    Led the creation and development of Edmonton Startup Week, a five-day celebration of learning, discussion and networking around multiple community-driven events across the city. Events include Launch Party, Startup Crawl, numerous meetups, workshops and other activities.

  • Mercer Warehouse

    -

    Mercer Warehouse is a 42,000 sq ft, 100 year old warehouse in downtown Edmonton, anchored by Startup Edmonton, a tech campus with over 600 members; Vacancy Hall, a pop-up retail and studio space; and multiple entrepreneur-run restaurants, bars and cafes in building. For 6 years, we worked with the building's owner Gather Co. to lead the renovation and activation of the building, including design, leasing and programming.

    Led the creation and development of the Startup City Project, a startup community outreach program focused on promoting cultural exchange through technology, design and entrepreneurship with fellow startups and city builders in other startup communities.

  • Ignite Festival

    -

    Led and executive produced this innovation festival for entrepreneurs, thought leaders, creative minds and change-makers. The festival attracted speakers from Shopify, Square, IDEO, and PwC., along with over 500 attendees from startups, corporations, and public sector organizations.

    TEDxEdmonton is part of the global network of TEDx is a community platform for ideas worth spreading. As chair and licensee, I led the founding team who produced and organized 10+ events in Edmonton, featuring over 60 speakers and attracting over 5,000 attendees over a span of four years.
