Windfall Basics puts on a program called Suitable Impressions to women who are going through social service programs after they've landed on tough times. This one day work shop takes them through the basics they need to land a job to support themselves and many times their families. They have credit counselling, self-esteem workshops, they are able to choose 6 brand new pieces of clothing for interview outfits, and they end their day with me doing a workshop on workplace appropriate hair and…

It is an incredibly empowering workshop that teaches them not just about outward beauty, but about rebuilding their self confidence which is the most beautiful thing of all.

Although it was in elementary school, this project lives with me forever as it helped to kick off my passion for philanthropic causes at an incredibly young age. I was in charge of rallying for donations at Connaught Public School for little children in impoverished countries world wide that had no place to sleep. We raised money to purchase sleeping kits, and then received photos of the children world wide receiving their kits and having a safe place to sleep at night.
