  • Summitted Mount Kilimanjaro

    -

Successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro-- Africa's highest peak (5,950m) and the world's tallest free-standing mountain-- as a member of a small student group. I taught myself elementary Swahili before the trip, which enabled me to assume an informal leadership position by translating and serving as an intermediate between our group and guides, porters and locals.
I filmed and photographed the trip, and then co-directed and produced a short documentary about the experience.
