“Associate Dean Alarie is one of the most brilliant, innovative and thoughtful leaders that I have ever worked for. He is a trailblazer that is transforming the Canadian legal education landscape one student at a time. While he is well known for his scholarly research, his ability to apply his empirical data expertise to tangible problems in other spaces is remarkable. I would place him in the league of thinkers like Malcolm Gladwell, Steven D. Levitt and Daniel Kahneman, each of which would benefit from his magnificent brain. What makes him even more impressive is that he always leads with integrity. Whenever we had difficult problems to solve (where there might have been an easy solution or one that was more popular), Professor Alarie always evaluated these choices on the basis of ethics and values. Being exposed to his way of thinking was one of the greatest perks of my time at U of T Law. The faculty has and will continue to benefit enormously from his leadership and vision.”
