Join us in congratulating Paula Chidwick, Director of Ethics & Spiritual Care for receiving the 2024 Canadian Bioethics Society/ Société canadienne de bioéthique Lifetime Achievement Award. Paula was the very first ethicist hired at a community hospital in Canada. She is also the founding Director of the Ethics Quality Improvement Lab at Osler and is recognized for cultivating a vision of bioethics that includes voices that have historically been marginalized.

Last week we celebrated 10 years of cord blood collection in partnership with Canadian Blood Services. To date, nearly 10,000 units have been donated from patients who gave birth at Brampton Civic, the only community hospital cord blood collection site in Canada. We are pleased to announce Pardeep Singh Gill as the new Chair and Treasurer of Osler’s Board of Directors. Mr. Gill has been an invaluable member of Osler’s Board since 2018, transitioning into the Chair role after Linda Franklin completed her term last month. It's amazing what difference a little art can make 🎨 #Brampton Civic's Oncology Unit and Outpatient Clinic were transformed recently by ArtWorks for Cancer, who installed more than 111 pieces of art throughout the space. Kudos to the Artworks team and our Oncology staff for making this amazing overnight facelift happen.

Happy #PRIDE! Earlier this week, our Anti-Discrimination Team and the Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee hosted our inaugural #PRIDE Launch celebration. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Carys Massarella, emergency physician and leader in transgender health care, joined us to share her insights and speak about the importance of high quality, gender-affirming health care for all.
