We are honoured to have been chosen as the host venue for Web Summit Vancouver, and we can't wait to welcome the world's top innovators and thinkers to the Vancouver Convention Centre in May!
BIG News: Destination Vancouver is very excited to announce that the first Web Summit in North America will take place in Vancouver in May 2025 bringing together thousands of international entrepreneurs with the brightest minds in tech, unicorn founders, midas investors and global media. Web Summit Vancouver succeeds Collision Conf in Toronto and continues the company’s mission to support and connect the global technology ecosystem. Dubbed “the Olympics of Tech” by Politico, Web Summit runs the largest technology events across the globe, including Web Summit Lisbon, Web Summit Rio, Web Summit Qatar, RISE in Asia, and now Web Summit Vancouver. Shout out to the incredible partners that made this happen: Minister Harjit Sajjan and his team at PacifiCan, Minister Brenda Bailey and the team at JEDI, and Mayor Ken Sim and our friends at the City of Vancouver. Today, we are proudly wearing red in support of the Red Shirt Day of Action, a day where people across Canada come together to show support for disabled people and their families, celebrate the achievements of disabled Canadians, and to pledge their commitment to help create a fully accessible and inclusive society. At the Vancouver Convention Centre, we are committed to improving accessibility and inclusion in our community and beyond. We recognize our understanding of this important topic continues to evolve over time, and we see accessibility not as an endpoint but as a continuous journey. #RedShirtDay

At the Vancouver Convention Centre, accessibility is more than a goal, it's a value we are striving toward. We're committed to cultivating an environment where everyone can thrive, no matter their background or their needs. We are proud to support BC Place and BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) in sharing these beliefs as we work towards creating an inclusive experience. #NAAW2024
This week is National AccessAbility Week. #PWD #NAAW2024 At PavCo, we’re dedicated to fostering an environment where every team member, client, and guest can thrive safely and inclusively. Every day, we welcome people from across the world at our venues and we’re committed to providing the best experience possible for every person, no matter their background or accessibility needs. PavCo is again taking part in Pledge to Measure, an Accessible Employers program that will help us measure and improve our disability inclusion in the workplace. Our Accessibility Committee has spent time with experts identifying accessibility barriers at both venues which has highlighted some key areas for improvements including mobility devices, hearing loop technology and sensory rooms and kits. Watch for BC Place and Vancouver Convention Centre light up in red this Wednesday as we join Easter Seals BC/Yukon in recognizing Red Shirt Day of Action for Accessibility and Inclusion.
