On June 5th, 2024, Resilient Consulting had the opportunity to present to the City of Vaughan Committee of the Whole on the policy, procedure, criteria and standards for municipal non-conventional stormwater management facilities. After a year and half of research, stakeholder engagement, and deliverable finalization, the Team was prepared to take our recommendation forward to Council as the first step to acceptance of this policy. The meeting video and supporting documents are available on City of Vaughan website for those who are interested. Congratulations to Mark Bassingthwaite and Team for crossing this milestone on the first ever policy for underground municipal SWMFs!

Construction at McKenzie Park in Mississauga is wrapping up after yet another successful municipal underground stormwater management facility installation! This project serves as a flood mitigation measure to help alleviate existing flooding within the Cooksville Creek Watershed. This was a joint design effort between Resilient Consulting and RJ Burnside, with Marjorie MacDonald keeping construction on schedule with full-time inspection for the past 6-months. Restoration for a City Park space is underway and is expected to open for public use later this year!
