“Will AI seriously affect the future of jobs?”. Spoiler alert… the answer is yes. AI is revolutionizing the workplace, which means now more than ever, it’s imperative that we as leaders develop Aigility. Aigility is more than a new buzzword; it's a philosophy that guides how we adapt to the ever-changing technological landscape. It's about deconstructing traditional roles within organizations to enhance productivity and relevance in an evolving workplace. In this episode, I sit down with Marti Konstant, MBA, the inventor of the term Aigility, to unpack the intricate ways AI is not just changing what we do at work, but also how we do it. Dr. van Rijmenam, with his profound knowledge on big data, blockchain, and AI, shares invaluable insights and his perspective on the expansion of sociomateriality theory to encompass AI. We tackle the concept of optimistic dystopianism, drawing inspiration from Nick Bostrom's work on superintelligence, and discuss the critical balance between the promise and perils of AI. Tune in to hear more about:  ➡️ The expansion of sociomateriality theory to integrate AI and its implications. ➡️ Optimistic dystopianism and the potential futures of superintelligence. ➡️ The tension between innovation and ethics in the development of AI. ➡️ Practical applications of AI and its transformative impact on industries and the future of work. ➡️ The importance of ethical considerations and collaborative approaches in shaping a future where AI augments human capabilities. As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of work and life, it's crucial to acknowledge the role of intrinsic motivation. The concept isn't new, but its impact is profound. In this episode of the Next Insights Podcast, I had an enlightening conversation with Roy C. Vella, the visionary CEO at Next CoLabs. We took a deep dive into one of Roy's favorite books, Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us by Daniel Pink. During our conversation, Roy emphasized the critical importance of autonomy, mastery, and purpose as the pillars of intrinsic motivation, and how AI can bolster these elements to create a more fulfilling work environment.

📚BookFlow Episode 171 with Authors Alvin Wang Graylin & Louis Rosenberg, PhD Our Next Reality : How The AI Powered Metaverse Will Reshape The World Week 1 : The Optimistic - Dystopian Continuum Zoom : Wednesday April 3rd 8-10pm est As we navigate the tides of transformation in the digital era, Graylin & Rosenberg’s "Our Next Reality" on the AI-Powered Metaverse is very timely. Our Next “Immersive” Reality is likely only a few years away…and this book speculates on the road ahead. Graylin and Rosenberg present a fascinating dichotomy of optimism and caution towards the burgeoning fusion of AI and the metaverse. Through a unique dialogic structure, “holding the opposites”, the book delves into the exhilarating possibilities and sobering potential pitfalls of this convergence, providing a balanced narrative that is as thought-provoking as it is informative. ➡️ OUR NEXT “MIXED” REALITY : After interviewing each of them on The Next Insights Podcast, it occurred to me that they are consciously exploring the “Optimistic - Dystopian Continuum” so that we are equipped to steer and shape this emergent future. Doug Hohulin and I will lead this special event engaging both authors in this much needed “oppositional” debate. Graylin's vision of an AI-enhanced future, where technology amplifies human experience and unlocks new realms of possibility, contrasts sharply with Rosenberg's more measured, dystopian apprehension of the risks, what he calls “The Manipulation Problem” and ethical quandaries looming on the horizon. The opposition is consciously ventilated so we all know the opportunities and risks ahead. ➡️ RATIONAL OPTIMISM : Expect a rich interplay of perspectives ultimately the book advocates for a middle path of "rational optimism." By acknowledging the existential threats posed by unchecked technological evolution while still championing the potential for positive transformation, Graylin and Rosenberg craft a compelling argument for cautious, yet hopeful, engagement with the future. Join us as we engage with these two pioneers in the AI, VR, XR & AR field where our new reality merges into a continuum, albeit a “mixed reality” where the boundaries blur and all of our prior "touch points" with reality will be augmented and foundationally challenged. See you tomorrow, comment "Bookflow" if you would like to join.
