We are pleased to collaborate with Environment and Climate Change Canada and other conservation partners to safeguard important wetland habitats for many species, including the threatened western chorus frog! Conservation is a team sport and by working together we all are making a positive difference for nature. 💚
Collaboration is key to the protection of #SpeciesAtRisk and their habitats, and we help with projects all across the country. In Quebec, through an investment of $8.2 million, we are supporting Nature-Action Québec, Conservation de la nature Canada and Canards Illimités - Québec with their activities to protect and restore the critical habitat of the #WesternChorusFrog in the #Montérégie and #Outaouais regions. Thank you, Jessica Burylo, for your insightful contribution to shed light on the diverse and full spectrum of autistic experiences, challenging misconceptions and stigma. We appreciate your collaboration and the opportunity to share your story about autism in the workplace and as an adventurer. Kudos to you for advocating for balanced narratives and embracing this important perspective! 💚
Autism communication in academia, and to the general public is flooded with sad stories portraying autistic people as challenged and unhappy. In reality, autism is a full spectrum of being that includes neutral and positive components. While challenges are real, and autistic people need to be supported, we also need to be seen as our whole complex selves to fight misconceptions and stigma. So when the The Nature Conservancy of Canada approached me to hold Autism in the Workplace workshops to their staff, and write about my experiences as an autistic backcountry adventurer, I jumped at the opportunity to write about the whole autistic experience! Big kudos to the editor for hearing my feedback about removing suggested deficit based language. I believe we need more of this. Thanks, NCC, for listening to the voice and values of an #actuallyautistic person 🙌

I want to shout it from the rooftops: Conservation actions work! Brand new scientific research provides the strongest evidence to date that conservation interventions help biodiversity. This is excellent work. "Specifically, we find that interventions targeted at species and ecosystems, such as invasive species control, habitat loss reduction and restoration, protected areas, and sustainable management, are highly effective and have large effect sizes. This provides the strongest evidence to date that conservation actions are successful but require transformational scaling up to meet global targets." https://lnkd.in/gX_7cCHS
