How do you manage spending quality time with your family when you are managing your own business? It's a challenge. As a long-time entrepreneur and mom of four, I understand the high demands of balancing life and work. I don't always have the time to do fun, silly things with my children. They are at an age where they understand, but it still makes me feel guilty. To make up for it, one of my favourite traditions is giving each of them a "Mommy and Me" day every June. They get to skip school for a day and choose the activities for our special day. And it's just that one child and me together, and they get my undivided attention for the entire day. This week, my kids wanted to go to a movie, a trampoline park, and have a picnic and play basketball at the park during our Mommy and Me days. I am an active participant in these activities. They are usually quite excited and have so many things to say. It's wonderful creating memories and showing them that although my business is an enormous responsibility, they are my top priorities. If you haven't tried this, I highly recommend it. We've been doing this for about seven or eight years now, and it's a beloved tradition for both the kids and me. We create so many wonderful memories.
