About 13 years ago, I moved to New York after graduating for what was then my dream job. In my (very naive) excitement, I rented an apartment in the Lower East Side without seeing it in person. As you would expect, I showed up and it was a complete disaster (200 very ugly square feet). LES was a very different neighbourhood back then, but there was a building a block away that I walked by everyday for years that I loved and thought "one day, I want to do something here." It was a beautiful heritage building at the corner of Orchard and Grand, that was pink. The pink building on Orchard St. Years later, the universe put that building (that was a landmark of my early 20s) back in my life, and I am incredibly excited about our newest store in New York, in that same pink building on Orchard from my past life. The doors to our newest store (number 10!) are now open. As always, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by brilliant people that make it a reality every day. Thank you to my brilliant colleagues and friends Mackenzie Yeates Sonia Fujikawa Michelle Fung Paula Sapinoso Asmaa Hussain - Shakil Nirvona Soraya-Galo Sana Jaffery and many more for your vision and hard work bringing these beautiful spaces to life.
