    "I want to learn something new everyday" Today I had the opportunity to present data from Hawke AI alongside observations from our marketing experts at Hawke Media (Erik Huberman Zack Johnson and Jeremy Schulkin), to an incredibly successful businessman regarding one of his investments. Despite having all the credentials and resume, he led with questions that showed he genuinely wanted to know more. He wanted our opinions and our ideas, all in the name of simply 'getting better'. No ego, no defensiveness, just openness to improving. At the end of the call he thanked us for our time and expertise and told us we have taught him something new. It was a great reminder that no matter how successful you are, remember to be curious and to be appreciative of someone's expertise.

    How is November shaping up for #ecommerce companies so far? Based on our proprietary data from Hawke AI of 1000s of ecomm businesses, it seems like consumers are very busy browsing, but not buying. Here are a few highlights: 1) we are seeing more web traffic hitting sites (e.g. website sessions are trending ahead of last year's seasonality) even though paid media spend has been relatively consistent with usual seasonality (i.e. no big spikes) BUT 2) engagement rates and transaction rates are both showing declines due to this higher activity. So things to consider: -Making sure your deals are clearly articulated with captivating creative in both ad copy and on site will be essential as consumers do this browsing. -Being able to provide any incentives to bring those folks back, and having effective remarketing in place, are all key success factors right now.     Surprise surprise, Google testifies in its anti-trust case that the cost of clicks are changed to meet revenue targets 🙄 (just like any other business that changes its pricing). This just highlights the importance for marketers to have access to real-time benchmarking data (like we have in Hawke AI, as a result of the vision of Erik Huberman) to understand trends in industry costs to react faster when changes like this happen.     We’re right where we’re meant to be…take a look at this data from HawkeAI. Think about all the ups and downs of the last 3.5 years, particularly for ecomm companies. We've seen all of this through our clients at Hawke Media... March 2020: The pandemic lockdowns spike online orders literally overnight. End of 2020 - Start of 2021: Supply chains are snarled, capped off by a giant boat blocking one of the busiest cargo routes in the world. BFCM 2021 - record breaking numbers means new highs for ecomm results (and valuations) Start of 2022 - Russia and Ukraine conflict begins, economic turmoil results Summer of 2022 - inflation hits decades-long peaks, interest rates spike, economic turmoil results BFCM 2022 - somehow records are still broken over this period, but rest of Q4 is mediocre Start of 2023 - revenues continue to be stifled YoY The Result of all this??!?!? We ended up exactly where we were supposed to be…below is the average ecomm business revenue by month over the last 5 years from HawkeAI. And guess what?!? If you extend the growth trend line from the 18 months before the pandemic all the way to 2023…we have a match! There is no doubt the ride of the last few years has caused its share of headaches and heartaches, financial losses, and the like, but ultimately, we’re right where we’re meant to be. #ecommerce #digitalmarketing #performancemarketing #economygrowth
