Creating Hope in Conflict: A Humanitarian Grand Challenge (CHIC) is a collaborative initiative supported by #USAID, the #UKFCDO, the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, #GlobalAffairsCanada, and #GrandChallengesCanada. The program aims to identify and fund innovative solutions to significantly improve and save the lives of people affected by #conflict.
💰 Current Funding Opportunity:
CHIC seeks #innovation ideas for its Transition to Scale (TTS) program, offering CAD $300,000 to $1.5 million for 12-24 months. The focus is on conflict-affected populations, particularly those hardest to reach, such as #women, #girls, #marginalized communities, and people with disabilities.
🔍 Areas of Focus:
#AccesstoEnergy: Affordable, equitable, climate-smart, and renewable energy solutions.
#Health Supplies and Services: Addressing healthcare infrastructure, disease surveillance, and assistive technologies for people with disabilities.
#LifesavingInformation: Reliable, safe communication and critical information dissemination.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (#WASH): Safe water access, waste management, and services addressing gender-based violence.
💡 Eligibility Criteria:
- Innovators from or serving conflict-affected communities.
- Innovations must have proof of concept and a scaling plan.
- Consideration of ethical, social, environmental, and gender equality implications.

Applications are by invitation only, reviewed on a rolling basis.
