Neurocognitive testing holds tremendous potential, particularly with the increasing prevelance of cognitive and behavioral health issues. Worldwide, it's estimated 1 in every 8 individuals is living with a mental health disorder, and by 2050 it's projected nearly 139 million people will be living with dementia. However, the time-consuming and highly specialized nature of neurocognitive testing poses significant challenges to patient access. This article from the Creyos blog explores the critical role of cognitive testing, current challenges, and how Creyos addresses these issues. Through highly validated technology, Creyos enables providers to gain crucial insights into patients’ cognition, bypassing long referral times and facilitating timely treatments. A simple & scientifically-validated digital platform for assessing cognitive function.
About us
Creyos (formerly Cambridge Brain Sciences) is a leading web-based platform for the assessment of brain health. It allows you to obtain accurate, quantified and scientifically-validated measures of key aspects of cognition, including short-term memory, attention, reasoning, and verbal ability. Creyos offers two core products – Creyos Health and Creyos Research. Built for health care practitioners, Creyos Health is an online brain health assessment service that takes seconds to set up, is engaging and enjoyable for patients, and produces a reliable and scientifically-validated cognitive assessment report in as little as 15 minutes. It is used by leading health care clinics around the world to track brain health over time as part of cognitive treatment and wellness plans. Healthcare providers using Creyos Health also have access to digital versions of many standardized patient health questionnaires. Creyos Research is made for researchers running studies on cognition in academic and commercial settings, allowing for the collection of cognitive data at scale. It has been used by many leading institutions, including Baycrest, Pfizer and Roche. Both products allow for assessment customization and online administration, require no expert technical support to administer and enable you to store and manage cognitive data securely in the cloud. Creyos maintains a global normative database of more than 85,000 participants (built off of our larger database of 12+ million completed cognitive tasks) that enables you to derive detailed comparisons of individuals to specific populations. The Cambridge Brain Sciences (now Creyos) cognitive tasks were developed in the laboratory of Dr. Adrian Owen, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Imaging (owenlab.org), over the course of his 25-year career. Over 300 scientific studies have been run to date using our tests, yielding numerous publications in leading academic journals.

The 8-year GUIDE Model pilot launches on July 1st. It's aim is to change dementia care with its comprehensive approach -- improving the lives of both those living with dementia and their caregivers. But its success hinges on one critical factor: timely and accurate dementia diagnosis. 🔍 Since early detection is key to effective intervention and better patient outcomes, imagine the impact if every provider had access to sensitive screening tools and objective diagnostic assessments. If there was a way to rapidly and reliably assess patients for signs of dementia often missed by traditional tests like the MoCA, MMSE, or Mini-Cog. With a data-backed screener and dementia assessment aligned to DSM-5 criteria, Creyos is uniquely positioned to help healthcare providers with better detection and care aligned to GUIDE. You can learn more about the GUIDE model here: https://hubs.li/Q02DsRZ_0, and if your practice is participating in GUIDE, determine for yourself whether you have the right tools to best support this new model.

Yukon Neurology transformed their cognitive evaluative process with Creyos to facilitate sensitive detection of impairments, specific identification of the impaired domain, and quantification of changes over time. Whereas traditional pen-and-paper assessments like the MoCA or the MMSE produce only a single score, having objective insights into different cognitive areas has allowed the Yukon Neurology providers to differentiate between conditions with overlapping symptoms such as dementia, anxiety, depression, and/or ADHD. Read our case study with Yukon Neurology’s Medical Director, Melissa Picchione, to discover how Creyos enabled the practice to “get to the root of the problem.” ➡️ https://hubs.li/Q02D2sNw0.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) GUIDE Model launches in just a couple of weeks on July 1st 2024. The initiative aims to enhance dementia care quality. The GUIDE Model will use an alternative payment method for participants who perform services for people with dementia, including assessments and care planning. CMS places an emphasis on the importance of quality dementia care management through incentives, but we also need to align the standard of care to include more sensitive assessment tools. By integrating these tools, we can improve clinical outcomes and ensure that patients receive the best possible care from the earliest stages of disease. 📖 Read more about the GUIDE Model initiative and how it aligns with the Comprehensive Care for Alzheimer's Act at the Alzheimer's Assocation: https://hubs.li/Q02C5hRH0
