🏕️Our HR team just got back from cottage country for our annual Camp Beacon retreat. This year our team got to explore beautiful Grand Bend, Ontario. There’s just something special about s’mores and Codenames together IRL! 💡💪We kicked it off with CliftonStrengths activities on the patio, mixed in some strategy sessions focussed around continuing to crush it for our clients, and learned a whole lot about each other through our Spotify stories happy hour, lake swims, and road trip chats.🎶 🌟Special bonus was visiting our awesome Toronto clients together, lots of learning with EO friends at Lake Rosseau, and pre-Collision connections.🤝🧡 🎯We’re feeling fired up and are so excited for the second half of the year! #BeaconBond #BeaconBright

🙌 Our team takes an immense amount of pride in the work we deliver for our clients. Here's a recap from Char Stark on a full-day DEIB session she designed and ran last week. She's an incredible leader in this space! 🎯
Last week, I had the privilege of facilitating a full-day DEIB workshop with one of our clients at Beacon HR. We dived into diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, exploring what these principles truly mean and look like to the organization. Whenever I am facilitating or having DEIB discussions it always reminds me of the profound responsibility we carry as leaders and facilitators. Creating a space of trust and understanding is key in these conversations. As the team explored their individual identities and recognized how their different perspectives shape decision-making processes, they acknowledged and discussed the significance of who is and who isn’t present in the room during crucial discussions and the impact this has on organizational outcomes. We had individuals well-versed in DEIB and others who were just beginning their journey - and every perspective was valued. There was no emphasis on right or wrong; instead, the focus was on fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth. 🌱 My key takeaway and reflection from this experience is crystal clear and I hope to pass it along to others: these DEIB conversations are not just beneficial; they are crucial. This is a reminder to all that we must continue to carve out intentional space to engage in meaningful dialogues about DEIB because without them, progress stagnates, DEIB end up being seen as a trend and our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment will falter. I know some People & Culture teams have struggled to keep these conversations alive amidst all the changes and challenges coming up this last year, but I want to encourage you all to make that time - to push for these conversations. As leaders, it is our responsibility to champion DEIB initiatives, not as an afterthought but as a core component of our organizational fabric. Let's commit ourselves to creating spaces where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to thrive. 🧡 #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #Belonging #Leadership #DEIB #Humanresources #hr
