Members from our Victoria Green Team were delighted to join forces with the Port Operations and Emergency Services Branch for the record breaking 2024 #WorldOceanDay Cleanup 🌊🌊 We are grateful for our valuable partnerships with the Esquimalt Graving Dock and Seaspan Victoria Shipyards, who collaborated with us to tackle debris at Minors Head and Dallas Bank, focusing on wire cabling, vehicle tires, and scrap metal, among other waste types. As a Green Marine partner, we are proud to support this crucial work within the #marine industry and the larger effort to protect our #oceans. Since 2018, Babcock has proudly supported the University of Victoria’s Human Powered Submarine Racing Team! We were delighted to welcome the team to the Esquimalt Graving Dock in Victoria, B.C., for a tour and to learn more about HMCS Victoria’s overhaul, the complex #STEM challenges being faced, and opportunities presented by HMCS Victoria’s Extended Duration Work Package. In July, the team will be heading to the United Kingdom to compete in the #EuropeanInternationalSubmarineRaces! The competition challenges university students to design, build, and race human-powered submarines against the clock on an out-and-back grand slalom course. The concept combines #engineering design challenges with technical skill development and sets the students up for a unique and exciting sporting competition.
