Last week, we celebrated our Calgary partnerships at our annual Client Appreciation Social. Enjoying some Mediterranean canapes, refreshing drinks, and live music, we raised a glass to the incredible partnerships we’ve made and embraced the spirit of the Stampede. In the last decade, we’ve built over two million square feet of residential and commercial space in the emerging city, including SODO Residences and the world's largest Residence Inn by Marriott, BLVD Beltline, The Guardian, First & Park, and Choice’s Coventry Development, Canada’s first retail Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) Design certification recipient. Meet Andrew Ha, CPA, Financial Systems Manager. After graduating from post-secondary school, Andrew launched his accounting career in audit and consulting. During this time, he completed his CPA, gained exposure to different businesses, both local and international, and learned from a variety of accounting professionals. While consulting gave him well-rounded experience, Andrew was interested in collaborating with a team long-term. He joined Axiom Builders in 2021 seeking to marry his passion for problem-solving and people with his background in accounting and consulting. As our Financial Systems Manager, Andrew is focused on optimizing our processes and financial systems so our team can work more effectively and efficiently. His day-to-day is more people-focused, problem-solving, and planning than number-crunching, balancing short-term tasks with long-term projects. Andrew feels fortunate to have the trust and support to pursue new ideas, build tools, and persist through challenges, surrounded by supportive people and inspirational leaders, driving his career forward. The residential project offers over 300 units between the 29-storey market tower and 6-storey wood-frame rental building in West Coquitlam. We’re excited to partner with The Sharing Farm Society and kick off the new planting season as their first group of volunteers! The Sharing Farm grows fruit and vegetables to support food security through the Richmond Food Bank and other community meal programs. Since the early 90’s, the organization has donated over 350,000 lbs of produce, donating an average of 20,000 lbs annually! Our team had a fantastic time at the Richmond farm learning about sustainable agriculture and assisting with various field tasks, such as planting lettuce, soil fertilization, and weeding. Breaking ground on a project that’s years in the making never gets old. Earlier this month, the project partners for Menno Hall gathered on-site to celebrate a journey of innovation, collaboration, and commitment – and it’s just the beginning. Axiom Builders is proud to be the construction partner of PCDA and HyLand Properties, working hand-in-hand to bring their vision to life. When complete, Menno Hall will offer residents, students, and academics a holistically designed and beautifully landscaped facility to live, study, and build community in the heart of the University Endowment Lands. The mass timber development comprises 86 below-market rental units, 101 student housing units, institutional and academic spaces, common areas, multi-functional meeting facilities, a dedicated concert hall, chapel, and stunning outdoor courtyards. Axiom Builders is delighted to announce our participation in a Global Building Exchange Program (GBEP) with Hutchinson Builders, Australia’s largest privately owned builder. Through GBEP, each company selects one employee to live and work abroad at the other company for a full year. Designed to foster the professional development of our people, it’s an opportunity to be immersed in a new country, learning and sharing innovative approaches and perspectives in a new market. We’re excited to share that Connor Lee, Assistant Project Manager on our Vancouver team, will head to Brisbane, Australia for 12 months in summer 2025. In exchange, we’re thrilled to then welcome Baxter Foreman, Contract Administrator with Hutchies, to our construction team in Vancouver. Congratulations to both!
