Vancouver Builds Canada’s First Passive House Firehall The City of Vancouver has set a new standard with Fire Hall #17, designed to eliminate GHG emissions and meet net-zero goals. Key Achievements: 645 GJ/year of natural gas use eliminated. 33 tonnes/year of GHG emissions eliminated. 91% waste diversion rate during demolition. 40% decrease in water use for non-fire-training operations. This project demonstrates how municipalities can lead in sustainable construction, providing a model for future developments.
